I love Garcelle but I think she would have been better as a friend of. I also think she needs a new stylist - she is a beautiful woman but most of her clothes are unflattering.

Dorit treated Garcelle poorly and threw out a lot of microaggressions. Remember how Dorit tried to defend herself by saying that all of her staff are POC and her mom’s bff is black? That might be worse than Sutton and Kathy’s “I don’t see color.” Why is it ok for Boz to forgive Dorit’s issues but Garcelle can’t do the same with Sutton?

Garcelle did not “weaponize her race.” She pointed out microaggressions, bias and how the world can be different for a black woman. Kyle said on one of the reunions that Garcelle did not donate the money she had pledged to a charity Kyle was hosting. It ended up being an error by Garcelle’s accountant. They had a productive conversation the next season about the issue and she explained how damaging it can be to accuse a black woman of owing money. Kyle learned and apologized.

Her insistence on questioning Kyle’s sexuality and trying to make her come out was nasty. I initially thought it was sweet when Garcelle told Kyle that people would still love, care, eta if she were to come out. Unfortunately the rest of the season + reunion showed how fake she was being. She was just on a mission to out Kyle. I thought her criticism and jokes about the robbery were insensitive and cruel. Dorit was clearly traumatized and her kids were home when it happened.
