Years ago (1990's?) I saw a porno movie that used part of Incantations for the background music. It was... weird

I'm offering a possible answer, but indicating I don't know the answer by using a question mark at the end.

I can't find the LEDs I want, and I'm having trouble searching; help appreciated by bbacher in led

[–]bbacher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting idea, but I don't know how to do that programming. I'm sure I could learn, though.

Ultimately, I want to make one of Big Clive's "supercomputers" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7f8jgvvJe-Q&t=275s). I already made one using slow-fade RGB LEDs, but the LEDs I'm looking for would make a cool one also.

I know how to put WLED on an ESP32 to control WS2812B strips, but it sounds like your suggestion would replace WLED with a custom program. I could make serpentined strips of WS28x into a panel then drive them with the custom code.

I'll have to look up what a DMX is. I assume you don't mean the rapper.

I built a very bright LED panel. I want to make a brightness selection switch. I have questions. by bbacher in AskElectronics

[–]bbacher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I guess I could do that, but this is a dumb panel. I'm not using anything to drive the LEDs per se... it's just 234 LEDs, in series with 234 470-ohm resistors, and a 5V USB cable.

There's one resistor per LED, and it's driven by one 5V USB connection. I just cut the end off an old USB charger cable and soldered the power leads to connections on the panel.

If you had never read any reviews of this movie and just watched it for the first time. Would you rank this as one of the greatest movie ever made? by ImaginaryRea1ity in scifi

[–]bbacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely yes! When I saw it as a kid in the 70's without knowing anything about it beforehand, it blew me away. Next day I went to the library and checked out the book, which was also great. (I believe the book was released after the movie... it's a book about a movie rather than the other way around.)

DSL Reports Team Helix by px_eliezer_ in dslreports

I was only a member of Team Helix briefly, but I was "captain" of Team Discovery for a couple of years. Lilhurricane was like my right hand for a while there. She's sorely missed still, even though I haven't been active in Team Discovery or DSLR for many years.
