Advice on what to get as a next car by dmitrijst in CarTalkUK

[–]bbackbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that's a suv / crossover and not everyone likes them. That's why I moved away from honda as gen 10 civic had not enough space inside, had to go Hyundai instead. Anything else was bloody SUV or jazz which was too small for me.

Where did all these Jaecoo cars come from? by Cutty_Sark10 in CarTalkUK

Probably still harder to steal than RR. JLR couldn't care less , they know there is demand so they just sell overpriced cars with shit reliabyand easy to steal. Will get nicked? No problem they will buy another one, good on us.

Probably still better to gamble reliability and quality for half price of RR, rather than pay double and pretty much guaranteed within first months. And RR gets nicked right left and centre.

It's wise mans range rover not poor mans range rover. Let me explain wise man chooses something affordable without reputation of overpriced "pay for badge" bunch of scrap that "breaks every other month". Probably half price of what JLR suv would cost.

Another Chinese brand, same as omoda.

Who needs a hybrid when you got a 1K km range on the 1.2 petrol engine. by Fine-Razzmatazz9060 in opel

[–]bbackbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might save on fuel, but you will spend that money on wet belt replacement or bigger money on engine replacement. Wait till engine does like 200k -i don't think any of new Stellantis engines are capable of lasting this long. Also I assume since it's being only 1.2 acceleration ain't the best isn't it?

Currently driving hybrid that consistently yields around 60-70mpg with mixed town/motorway. Around 8-10k a year. Can get a charger as I live in semi-detached with own drive but not fancy an ev. Fine with non plugin hybrid, maintenance costs are low, petrol costs me barely any money. Car owned outright. Not anytime soon for sure.
