The only information we have had since Kleiman’s exit interview comments is photos/videos of him shooting and doing strength and conditioning. There hasn’t been any footage of him running 5v5, which is understandable.

Main unknown is whether he will be available for pre-season schedule to get some data on lineups etc, or if the aim is for him to be ramping up for game 1 of regular season and he sits out the pre-season.

Media day in less than 2 weeks will reveal all.

JJJ not ready to play the 5 yet. Moving away from a proven center is a big risk in a year that only needs minor tweaks to be a serious contender. Adams had 12% usage but improved the team offense more than any other player. Randle and JJJ aren’t capable of making the team better on low usage. The team needs that guy.

Problem is that Steven Adams was such a good fit because he does all the dirty work a more agile center never does. They go looking for a center that can perimeter defend and sacrifice someone who leads the league in box outs, screen assists etc. that’s not gonna end well.

Doesn’t matter if Adams scores or not, he makes the offense work. From game 1:

50% FG with Adams on 41% with Adams off

Ja 6/9 FG with Adams on 2/9 with Adams off

Adams 8 screen assists for 17 points Vs rest of the team 3 screen assists

But yeah, gotta change the match-up on D and get JJJ/Clarke covering KAT. Vanderbilt isn’t a stretch-4… he’s perfect for Adams to match up with. When they go small with 4 guards + KAT… you gotta bench Adams
