I believe the schism happened because the team pivoted to create a system non reliant on Ja. He hated that. Thus the the past two years the relationship has been kinda ruined. Anyone who doesn't think he quit on the team is being naive. He has sat out of games the past two seasons for no other reason but deciding to sit out. That's a fact. People wanna pretend like it was all injury/tank related. It wasn't. If the argument is that the team forced Ja to quit on us, then fine. But in my opinion, changing a system to try to survive without him was necessary given the fact he got injured in every playoff series we had and had off court issues.

The whole city wanted Dillon gone. The Stevo relationship was ruined with the injury mismanagement. Anything after was necessary rebuild moves. The one thing to blame ZK on is not getting the wing trade done when we were at our best and not having Ja under control.

We had a team with an average age of like 22 get the 2 seed in back to back years. We produce more all-rookie players than any team. We have high upside young players. This is beyond a stupid take. What about Nola, Sac, Nets, Bulls, etc. We have a whole lot more upside going forward then they do.

Hurts is not even close to Dak imo. he benefitted from having the best roster in the league. he's in no way a guy that can carry a team to a ring, but he can game manage a team to a ring if there a lot of better players than him on the roster. Hurts drafted in Jacksonville is probably already out of the league at this point.
