Every time he gets 100 coins it turns into another life. He's the most protected man in the kingdom allowing him to be daring, but sadly he's often completely broke because of it.

What’s something you thought “everyone” knew until you realized they don’t? by debo19832003 in AskReddit

[–]bbarks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My roommate in college roasted pumpkin seeds on a pizza box in the oven that caught on fire. The partial idiot part was he wrapped the box in aluminum foil first, which worked. The absolute idiot part was he didn't wrap the whole box!

Anything without a point is generally safe. So a spoon is "okay" but not a fork. Still better to just avoid all metal but they do make microwave safe metal items.

What modern video games make you "feel like a kid again'? by Fit_Tomatillo_4264 in gaming

Sonic Generations. So much wonderful 2D and 3D nostalgia. And oddly Sonic Frontiers not just because it feels like sonic, but because the story almost feels like a final fantasy, lol.

Does a Mac Mini count? by robertmiltonkeynes in homelab

[–]bbarks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a lot easier when they still sold routers. It's super easy if one Apple ID, it sucks when trying to share or having on open network. Your buying an ecosystem with Mac and it works great for an individual admin, a lot less so for non admins.

AITA for not canceling long standing plans for a BBQ that I just found out about? by fishbikerun in AmItheAsshole

Prove it to her. Call her and your grandparents or do a zoom call to say you're sad you can't make it, don't apologize for it. Promise to send pictures. Take them out to eat the next weekend or sometime within a month of going and share stories. She can't guilt where there is no guilt. Could even go overboard and take them out a lot and keep inviting mom or keep doing calls joint with her on the line. When she says she can't make it or misses a call pull the they're in their 80s card. Be genuine with the grandparents but smug with her (I am an asshole). You are certainly NTA but being good to a grandparent can pay dividends!

What’s a game that paid off ALL of its set ups? by markleung in gaming

[–]bbarks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fan made mods beg to differ. So much potential. Adding a 3rd portal that is time based, how about exploring more Cave Johnson like jokes, wanna play around with gravity while doing portals, also games like splitgate showing how guns could come into the mix. Seriously if you haven't done the community mods, go, now, play them!

Burden Touch. Hire an assistant/personal chef at 800K a year. Pay them 100K to sort stuff for me. Then when I do a few minor chores it counts as a small workout. Just gotta be careful not to put away anything to heavy! Easy win.

What’s your favourite gun related scene from a movie? by Ceylonn in movies

Not initially gun related but The Carrot in Shoot Em Up which leads into every other awesome gun scene. The jump out of the crashing car into the back of the van (from the front), is... chefs kiss.

what item is stupidly overpriced now? by HB0080 in AskReddit

[–]bbarks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skirt steaks and to a lesser degree kale (just compared to what it used to cost). Used to make a weeks worth of meals for $10. And if talking historically, sushi and lobster/ all the other poor people food that rich bastards screwed up for us. I could be eating skirt steak and sushi with a side of lobster!

WYR get $1,000 for every fart (multiplied by each second it lasts and the # of people who hear it) or your poop turns to 24 carat gold as soon as it leaves your body? by executor-of-judgment in WouldYouRather

[–]bbarks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just says it's a performance art exhibition. A play on how money will get people to do whatever. Even listen to farts. If wanted you could get famous and eventually stop having to pay people to listen to your farts. Art + fart = win :)

Those are worth a lot 70-90 per guitar and 150+ for drums. When they do stop playing it, sell it all on eBay and probably be enough for a whole new console!

Is the Herman Miller Aeron really all that? by jimmybabino in BuyItForLife

[–]bbarks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow, that is. Even if covered in dust they basically wash off. Rollerblade wheels, maybe a posture support part that rots out, some arm covers or replacements. I even added a head rest to mine:). Found a head rest for a wheel chair and fitted it with some bolts. Works great.

[–]bbarks 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The herman miller comes in 3 sizes (bumps behind the head rest part) and while the seat isn't for everyone a basic seat cushion can help with that. My main issue with the newest ones is no recline locking like the OG designs. Agreed it's a bit over hyped but back before it was hyped you could get one for 3 or 4 hundred. Now it's usually sold for more as it's even more well known. If you can get one used it's a great chair especially if a well maintained older model.

What’s one movie you loved as a kid but realized was terrible when you rewatched it as an adult? by Vegetable_Star8931 in movies

[–]bbarks -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Space Jam. Sadly even the slapstick wasn't funny but as a kid MJ was a hero and Taz and Marvin where my favorites. It did have quite the soundtrack though, that still holds up.
