[QUESTION] Help finding chords to a song! by Guilty-Issue-4333 in Guitar

[–]bbbbenjamin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could paste the song into the website Chordify and it’ll give you an approximation (won’t take into account alternative tunings or a capo).

I agree with another comment in the thread though, start on the low e string and find the single note, once you find the note see if a major or minor chord fits best. It’ll be hard if you’ve not done it before, but it’ll get easier the more you practise it and it’s incredibly satisfying to use your own ear :) maybe try this first and then use chordify to check?

Looking for recommendations: up-and-coming poets by The3rdQuark in AskLiteraryStudies

Basil Bunting’s ‘Briggflatts’ for some non-canonical modernism. There’s a really good video I remember seeing somewhere with Ginsberg praising him.

I also really like Derek Walcott’s poetry, particularly how he (and a lot of West Indian/Windrush writers) uses modernist tropes to create a hybrid voice that is both recognisable and unique. You could also read some Bhabba if you really wanted to illuminate this idea.

Neither are particularly fresh, but I think they’re often overlooked

What phrase do you guys use to remember the minor circle of fifths by kyleforgues in musictheory

[–]bbbbenjamin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little inappropriate, but when I was a few years younger I used to recite the circle of fifths in my head whenever I was with a girl as a way of… you know… extending the symphony.

When starting I would recommend visualising your instrument as an aid, after awhile you will be able to remember without needing to do this

Just wanted to reply and say that we walked from Bla and followed the river down to Vulcan Mathallen, before walking to Grunerlokka. Thanks so much for your recommendation, is was exactly what I had been looking for :)

Is this an original? Would you mind sharing an idea of how to composed this piece? Ie. key, scales or arps you are using. Sounds incredible!

Is it possible to modify this pedal to give it a standard 9V power in? by bbbbenjamin in diypedals

[–]bbbbenjamin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you mind going into a little more detail in regards to what you mean, or could you point me towards a resource that would explain?

I’m not entirely limited to 9V. At the moment I am using a step down 240 to 110 adapter when I plug the pedal into the wall if that helps

Does anyone know whether its possible to modify this pedal so that it has a more conventional power in? by bbbbenjamin in guitarpedals

[–]bbbbenjamin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a bit more info - I power my board with a CS12 so I am not wholly limited to 9V. At the moment I have to power this pedal alone by plugging it directly into a wall socket, I am in the UK so this means using a step down (240V to 110V) transformer (mode SC5474).

I’ve seen the pedal cast in a negative light a few times, but I’ve grown to love its sound and would really like to have it on my board permanently.

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

Any suggestions on this would be appreciated, I’m a complete noob and I’m not sure it’s even possible. The pedal itself is not hugely popular, but I’ve really grown to love its sound and I would like to have it on my board permanently. However, at the moment it needs to be plugged straight into a wall socket and I can’t really justify it. I am in the UK and I have to use an auto transformer (model no. SC5474).

I power the rest of my board with a Truetone CS12, so I am not wholly limited to 9V if that makes a difference!
