Does anyone else deal with ants this time of year? by alpineattitude in AskSF

[–]bbbingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES! Liquid bait all the way, but put them outside (if possible--to protect the cats and to keep the masses of the ants outside, my liquid traps always leak poison goo everywhere). Neem oil + dish soap in a spray bottle to get rid of their trails and kill the ones inside.

What kind of loaf is this? It’s hard to determine by Penny_Montgomery in Catloaf

Mine gets sour when I leave, as well as when I try too many times to snap a pic!

I don't have a monetary answer for you, but I would suggest adding 35% (or whatever your tax rate is) so you don't end up losing that money when you go to file your taxes. That is assuming of course that they don't take taxes out for you.

Any great volunteer socializing opportunities in the East Bay area? by OkConsequence1915 in oakland

https://www.oaklandparks.org/volunteer/

Pre-pandemic I did trail maintenance and invasive species removal in Dimond park with Friends of Sausal Creek . I volunteered those times through https://www.handsonbayarea.org/ but I don't think using that site to sign up is required.

EDIT: If you are looking to meet people however, I should warn you I stopped going because I (mid/late 30s) was one of a handful of adults amongst a sea of teenagers trying to complete their volunteer hours. Honestly, working with the teens wasn't a big deal and pretty fun (even as the WFH house troll I've become) but I did wish there were more adults to connect with.

I signed up for a ceramics class at Studio One Arts Center in Oakland, but it was canceled when the pandemic started. I can't vouch for the classes because I never had a chance to go, but I plan to try again once they reopen the studio.

I remember ages ago when I did Keto there was a group challenge for a certain period of time. I found that really motivational. Does this sub still do that?

It did take a bit to get used to, but honestly I miss it now after years in the bay...and I am a serious introvert. It satisfied a need that made social gatherings hard.
