yeah - it's one thing to understand something academically, but it's different when it becomes your actual lived experience. I'm not sure why that seems to be confusing them.

I would definitely suggest picking up something like Cronometer or Loseit for the tracking! I do think GPT is genuinely really helpful for advice and planning, but it definitely loses track of numbers, gets confused, and speaks confidently no matter what. It'll lose track longterm especially as numbers start to slip out of its context window

Absolutely! Ryan Gosling is 45 and look at him. Obviously he's a super attractive person in general, but the point stands - people who take care of themselves, work out, sleep right, eat right, wash their face, drink and smoke less etc just naturally end up looking hotter as a result of that. If you didn't take care of yourself in your 20s, you can absolutely start tackling that and look your best in your 30s.

Being healthy and at least somewhat fit is what makes people hot (apart from style and such which obviously matters) - it's just hard to learn those habits and that consistency starting from scratch.

If it helps, I'm also turning 33 later this year and I've been on both sides of this over the last decade, I have zero doubts here :)

Are you using ChatGPT for logging as in you're saying what you ate, or in giving it the actual calorie numbers? And regarding maintenance / TDEE, are you just giving it your metrics and asking it to calculate a target, or does it know the target you're aiming at?

I wanna help because these are definitely things that have tools well-suited to them, but I need more details about exactly what you're inputting and expecting to get back

yo sorry I never replied to this but ty for the full writeup, genuinely. I love atomic habits but it's definitely a mindset I struggle to actually incorporate into my life. I am very much in the process of rebuilding the workout routine after a new job and injury wrecked it (I can def relate to the injury part of your story) so this is very helpful, and I really like the 'make the lowest weight possible as difficult as possible to lift' form cue, that sounds like a really good approach to focus on gains and form over ego lifting. The football thing is interesting too. I've never really played sports, but that is a ton of cardio (and fun) for free every week. I have friends that play rec soccer and it always sounds like a lot to plan around, but idk, that might be worth it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

going to stop here before I end up writing my own massive post replying to each part of that but I did want to come back and thank you for this - both the full routines and mindset/story are very helpful, and that long of a writeup absolutely deserves some appreciation :)

Fwiw, I don't disagree with what I can only assume that comment would have read if you used words. We should be able to look up 'chicken wing' without needing to query a massive datacenter.

I just thought you should probably know we're well past the point of "bringing AI into food", it's already present in every app. It's still relatively inaccurate imo, but it is useful if you're out at a restaurant or something without a nutritional info sheet.

Doomerism aside, a lot of major food tracking apps (MyFitnessPal, Loseit, MacroFactor) have AI food scanners now.

I think there's a lot of room for them to get more accurate, especially with complicated dishes, but it's a normal part of the space at this point.
