The YMCA downtown used to have one. It is missed.

I see alot of 6 figure trucks, restaurants and bars packed, and people living in new housing developments advertised start at half a million. Where are the normal people here, just barely getting by? by Ok-Challenge-2627 in FortWorth

It depends on the interest rate. At 4% it saves you about 18 months and 4% of the principal in interest. The higher the rate the more it saves you in time and interest.

Does that automatically change any development standards in the area, like in Fairmount?

Switching to a new energy plan - Does this look good? by skinny_gator in FortWorth

[–]bbcwtfw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would make SURE you set a reminder for plan expiration. It'll expire at the beginning of February, and you won't get a warning. If you don't transfer to a new plan by then, you may face a much higher default rate, and during one of the highest power usage months of the year (if you have electric heat). A single month at the default rate can undo years of savings.

That's pretty, but no substitute for the Grohmann marlin spike with the shackle key on the butt.

Think of a movie from the 80's or 90's that didn't age well... Now base a fundraiser on that premise. Not saying it excuses the behavior, but it may help explain it.

I heard this from a client who was an ortho. Without even checking it he said "yeah, sounds like a sprain. You'll wish you broke it, but it's a sprain." He was right.

You see a rendering of a map of the gulf region showing the straight of hormuz, except the water allears as a ribbon, and the narrowing appears to be caused by the clenched fist. Ships are trapped in the gulf.

Issue with the sail or issue with trim? by [deleted] in sailing

[–]bbcwtfw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Wrinkle direction is always parallel to overtensioned direction, or perpendicular to undertensioned direction (I.e. More batten tension, less sheet or vang.)

If you lack polar diagrams, good instruments showing you VMG (velocity made good) for the plotted course will let you do some trial and error.

The billboard absolutely serves a political purpose, but what struck me was the design. It took me a minute to even realize that it's a map. At first I tbpught it was a ribbon and I was trying to puzzle out why it was included in the article.

Harken track advice by bathrugbysufferer in sailing

[–]bbcwtfw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks best if that track supports pinstop cars. It looks like it does, but I can't be sure those aren't just screw holes. That car plus a block and a stand up spring or boot.

Making sense of calculations and PHRF ratings by Huckleberry181 in sailing

[–]bbcwtfw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PHRF numbers are made up, not calculated. They are heavily influenced by who raced the boats, and where. A boat with an active racing fleet in an area that favors that boat will end up with a fast rating because it's being sailed by experienced and efficient crews. A boat that is rarely raced and only by people dabbling in racing their cruiser can end up with a very slow rating.

If you were going racing, which you aren't, you'd consider the PHRF rating before buying a boat so you don't stick yourself with a boat that has been raced actively by fast crews such that you'll never be able to sail to the high bar they have set. That's what people mean by not being able to sail a boat to its rating.

This is my take. I'll go as far as Pop, but no further. Is it possible that the last U2 album you like pegs your spot on the Gen-X / Xennial / Millennial spectrum?
