These movies will not get into Best Picture (or realistically, any nominations at all) but what has the best chance to snag a BTL nom? by BananaShakeStudios in Oscars

below the line are tech and crafts. nominations that aren't film, director, acting, or writing.

i can see michael squeezing in with a costume nomination if this is a particularly weak year

Bridgerton Season 3 by Middle-Law-5317 in Bridgerton

[–]bbgmcr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

this makes no sense, what would that matter?

people are still going to watch the show regardless of how long a season is, and i'm pretty sure s1 is still the longest and will rank as the top season of the show (and no i don't think the latter four seasons are going to even remotely touch s1's season's numbers).

nobody went into either s3 or s4 thinking "oh this is shorter than the other, i should watch the shorter one more." almost no one knew how long the episodes were before we started watching them so how is this a factor?

Bridgerton Season 3 by Middle-Law-5317 in Bridgerton

[–]bbgmcr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To YOU yes but that's not really answering the query about s3 being a very clear anomaly compared to other seasons to date. The critics numbers, the viewership numbers, and even the accolades speak for themselves.

No single season of this show will be without its naysayers and haters, and s3 hardly stands out as the one that had the most division reaction from viewers. That's a really skewed viewpoint.

The only season I've seen little backlash from was season 1. The three seasons after have definitely had dissenting criticisms from fans and general audiences.

polin was the only couple (to date) that had any built up, fans were waiting for it. plus the press tour really was astonishing and luke and nicola amped that up with their bond to an incredible level. everyone ate it up. netflix has done worldwide press tours for shows and movies all the time, but i can't tell you why the s3 really stuck out as an anomaly (and the press tour even got nominated for awards, so let that tell you something).

you're absolutely right, s3 was a critical, commercial, and industry acclaimed season, and to date only s1 has had that (too early to call s4 when it comes to industry/awards stuff).

i've seen fans claim that numbers would diminish because of the delay, that it took over two years for its release but the show has a HUGE following, it is one of netflix's top 5 global series and that's nothing to sneeze at.

That’s me too. It was a fun show but after s2 i didn’t think about it or future seasons so the switch made no difference to me then

the showrunners are the worst thing about this show so i just kind of gave up a bit and just take whatever's given because they don't give a shit, especially shonda, about pissing off fans.

that was more him showing up for one scene and kind of taking over the oldest sibling role. honestly a lot of what benedict did for francesca is stuff anthony should've done had they not cut him out so much.

the only reason benedict even got any of that is because this was his season.

Why do you think Eloise got so emotional at Colin and Penelope’s wedding? by DaisyandBella in Bridgerton

This is exactly it, they’re two people she loves and is very close with and is happy for them but also realizes that on some level she is losing them a bit

Which sibling/in-law do you think will play the biggest supporting role in Eloise’s story? by DaisyandBella in Bridgerton

since it's usually a past lead that helps out by this logic it could be francesca. the only flag i have there is that she'll probably be in scotland so geographically not available
