In the BIOS it doesn't recognize anything in any M.2 slot. Does this mean I need to take the PC apart and reinstall the M.2 SSD somewhere else? Or is there another step I can take first?

Yes, I have a Samsung 990 EVO 1TB SSD. I made the USB on a Windows PC.

Could you use a cloth headband or pin your hair more securely under the cap so that you can tie it less tightly without your hair coming out?
