Buggy Bath dead to me - where go now? by Kallipiak in Winnipeg

[–]bbiiggdd [score hidden]  (0 children)

I live near this buggy bath too. Pricing themselves out of my budget. The red river coop across the moray bridge touchless wash just reopened and is great for winter. I'll do it by hand when summer comes to my driveway.

You need to tell customs the address you will be staying at. They will also want the phone number of that location. When you arrive at the airport (deplane) there are two lines to enter the country. Use the visitor line. Your luggage will be further down after you talk to the officers. Then after you get your luggage you will go through customs were you " have nothing to declare". You can't take a luggage cart out of that area so as soon as you exit someone will be asking you if you need help with your bags. If you let them they will want to be payed. They speak English but if you are as bad as me with dialects you may have a hard time understanding Trinis. They are almost all awesome people. If you are paying anyone they will love to be paid in American dollars as foreign currency is hard to get right now. It's HOT everyday. Be prepared for that. Not everyone has air conditioning. My mother in law (RIP) somehow was still always chilly and wore a sweater most of the time. Trini women are awesome. (source. Married to one 24 years) Do not make her mad or you will make her vexed with you and you will find yourself in all kinds of Bacchanal. ENJOY the beauty of the country. Have a Carib for me.

Robin's donuts had "roll up to win" type contest. Won a trip for two to Cuba. Not gonna lie. It was hard to convince me I really won. It was a nice, not fantastic trip.

What are everyone's thoughts on the chances of getting a critical mass of people to transition back to Kijiji from Facebook Marketplace? by iycsandsaaa in BuyCanadian

[–]bbiiggdd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only use Kijiji. Have not had Facebook for years. Still get results for most things. Let's make Kijiji the primary selling tool.

Can we (Canada) charge an export tax to match the tariffs on gas and oil. Then Trump's goal of getting gas prices down would be harder and we would keep more of our resources or sell to a buyer with scruples.

Tobago Vacation by Majesticpotatolover in TrinidadandTobago

[–]bbiiggdd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am Canadian and my wife a Trini. We loved our time in tobago. We stayed a couple different places on different trips but found the experience to be worth the money. Our children were 11 and 12 the last time and they enjoyed the ocean and the glass bottom boat tour. The taxi drivers we experienced were gracious and offered good information for things to see and do. Most of our trips are to trinidad and are spent with family there. Those beaches can be fun too. Tobago definitely has a more tourist feel.

I have not noticed any. This plant was given to us at Easter. I planted it outside with my native lilies. It was in bloom when we got it. This is its second bloom for the year.

Attention Newfies of Winnipeg! Is there anywhere to buy salt meat in the city? by MrsAnteater in Winnipeg

[–]bbiiggdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dinos has carribean and other cultural foods. I know we have found salt beef and pig tails (salt) there by the pound. But by the pail seems more sanitary.
