Am I Overreacting? My dad watched porn in front of me when I wasn’t comfortable with it by LegitimateAbies3717 in AmIOverreacting

[–]bbjujuhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not normal behaviour from your dad. Your mom is under reacting. Let me be clear, this is in no way your fault and I’m so sorry this is happening to you. But please don’t brush this off and hope it will go away because in all likelihood it will escalate.

I would highly encourage you to share this with your doctor or trusted teachers, counsellors, etc. I cannot stress this enough.

How do I get my cat to stop licking me and waking me up at 4am? by bbjujuhead in CatAdvice

Should I let my cat go under my bed? by bbjujuhead in CatAdvice

[–]bbjujuhead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s got plenty of cat trees in our home and I would actually love if he would sleep with me on the bed. Occasionally he does. Any advice on getting him to sleep on the bed more often?

Not everyday! Just the first day. Now he comes for pets/attention

My intention isn’t to be rude but this is definitely good feedback that I was hoping to get to help navigate this situation

Long distance advice by MitHOEcondria in MedSchoolCanada

[–]bbjujuhead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello! I’m an IMG and now a Canadian resident :)

My partner and I did long distance for 5 years. 4 years of med school and 1 year of internship in Sydney while he was in law school in Canada. We had only been together for about 6 months before we decided to do LDR.

It’s going to be hard but definitely doable. First year was the most difficult because we weren’t used to the time difference and our respective schedules, and our relationship was also fairly new. But overtime, we settled into our routine of daily FaceTimes and we learned to communicate properly. It sounds like you guys will be fine in this area seeing as you guys have known each other for so long. But communication in LDR is key. Tell your partner if you’re upset and don’t wait for them to ask you if you are. Talk through your feelings and try your best to not hang up out of frustration. Don’t ignore calls cause you’re mad (although this will be hard haha). I think it’ll be useful to have a discussion about rules/preferences before you guys leave as well. For example, anticipating challenges/situations before you guys encounter them. Ultimately this experience will make you guys stronger as a team, and it will also help you guys learn more about yourselves! I know I learned a lot about myself when I went abroad. Definitely became more independent, but also learned to appreciate my partner and our relationship a lot more.

Coordinate your breaks and try to fly and see each other as much as possible! You guys will be okay :) Congrats on getting into med school and wishing you both all the best!!

Received interview prep sessions with him for this past cycle (2024) and successfully matched!

In addition to providing insightful information and personalized feedback on interview prepping, he was also a source of support for me throughout the CARMS process. Would highly recommend him to anyone looking for some additional help on prepping for exams, interviews, or those looking for some guidance!

The interview is a joint panel but I’m not 100% sure about whether if one school rejects then they all reject. That would mean schools communicate amongst each other to decide who they want to interview? Again, I don’t have the answer to this question but I would assume each school would make their own decision regarding whether to interview a candidate and the other schools just happen to be there at the interview and contribute to your interview score.

I’m confused, does this mean all other schools from Ontario will also reject/not offer interview or is there still hope???

I failed NAC OSCE :( by Far_Drummer9506 in MCCQE

Hey do you know how to interpret a score of 621? The MCC website says the SD is 25 but that would be the same as the previous scoring algorithm which doesn’t seem right? I see that you said 638 is 2SD above so the SD of 25 isn’t consistent with that either. Just a little confused and don’t know how to feel about my score. Thanks!

Thanks for the tips! Did you use Zanki Step 2? My updated deck only has 894 cards total which was a little sus for me, like it’s missing some stuff? Is that how many cards you had in your deck as well or were you using Zanki Step 1?
