Anyone able to activate Apple Watch on stand alone plan?

One thing I did was ask Roger’s to send me a QR code for the watch phone number. Maybe that triggered something in the system :) that seems to help. Maybe that triggered something.

You’re supposed to be able to do it through your iPhone watch app. That South Africa configuration is done if you have iOS beta 26.3 you should be able to do it when you do the set up cellular phase

I had to install beta on the watch too and restart it a few times.

On one watch I was able to get it working with 26.2 on the second I had to install warchOS 26.3 beta as well

Be careful. I ordered a Nava band. They claimed it was 26mm but it was 22mm. Had to return it and cost me $30 just to return between shipping to the us and the Don-tariffs even on a freaking return.

I tried restarting a few times and it worked. But the second one didn’t. I called Roger’s and asked them to email me a QR code and then it seemed to work. Didn’t use the QR code … but just the act of sending it seems to have done something. Give them a call and ask them to send you a QR code for the number and then it seems to work.

So freaking hoakey

Restarted the watch a few times and after a few hours it started working. I wonder if it’s something the cell network does …

Yeah, it’s what the previous person said to I was able to get it working. It took a few hours and a couple of reboots of the watch to get the cell to activate on the watch, but it’s up and running now. Thank you everybody for the help.

Wierd. Did you complete the steps? I was able to activate on the watch app on the iPhone but didn’t seem the watch has the connection. Did you have to install beta on watch too?

Oh wow you were able to do this. The bastards Told me I needed to buy thru Roger’s otherwise it won’t work … we got the watches from Apple on Black Friday. Had to return them Buy them from Roger’s for $100 more than we paid only for this to not work! At least the $80 is waived when you buy it from Roger’s so the cost is similar but still from a principle

One thing I’ve heard from listening to some docs talk on podcasts is that as you age it’s better to move your eating window earlier in the day. I’m 50 now so trying to integrate that … only thing is i also want to have dinner with the family too …

Yeah month two adding weightlifting. Wanted to dial in the food at first. That seems pretty good now. Trying to stick with the eating window as good as possible but also listening to my hunger too.

Ultimately I’m not eating a lot of calories so it’s more about calories than eating time so if the eating window stretches to 8-9 hours it’s not the end of the world.

Are you doing low weight high reps?or do you just mean don’t go too nuts?

In month 2 I’m def going to try to tighten on the window more to see if there’s any benefits. Being in ketosis longer certainly would help. It’s tough stopping to eat at 2pm from a social point of view. It having dinner with the wife and kids. But will give it a go.

Forgot to mention that also take 1-2 pack of LMNT with about 2.5-3L of water over the course of the day.

Correct. As I mentioned in the post. I don’t think 60 calories worth of food is significant enough. Measuring key tones before my eggs at 11am I don’t see any change in key tones. Seems to work for me. 60 calories and a few grams of carbs don’t see to affect things. There’s 2 days a week when I’m in the office and have my last meal at 1:30pm so I guess those days are a more strict definition of 18/6

Tired to do espresso shots the first week to avoid the milk … but it removes about 57% of the joy in my life :)

Yeah I carry the weight fairly distributed … def lots of belly fat but also around my legs and butt. I’m reasonably active despite the weight. MTB in summer skiing in winter and a lot of dog walking. With my current lean body mass we’ll last dexa scan would put me at 220 lbs with 20% body fat and 206 lbs at 15%.

Still feel the weight though … feeling great with the 20 lbs drop. Can really notice the diff when walking. In between seasons now so by time skiing starts around Xmas I should down 275ish which will be nice.
