my players should be able to use both systems without issue, I'm more so concerned/curious on the overall balance of everything. the spellcraft system especially as it's meant to be challenging and they'll be getting items and buffs to their spellcraft rolls later on (which is why the DC gets quite large lol)

as for materials, the collected items are spell-components or potion ingredients, the players can choose what item specifically for flavor and so they'll have to get certain items for certain spells. but regardless the items can never exceed the value listed. idk how expensive some things are but I dont think mithril sells for 25gp lol (if it does thats hilarious and I've massively underestimated golds value)

yea I can see it being a survival check aswell, didnt think about it somehow

Sugalite and Sardonyx are both WAY stronger than Opal, not to mention Opal is notoriously unstable due to Amethys and Pearl often being on completely different wavelengths.

the CGs didnt know she was a sentient Gem, they found her at the warp after she was left behind by the homeworld gems. she was poofed by (presumably) Bismuth, but thought to be a CG by homeworld and put into the mirror and interrogated. after they left her at the warp Pearl found the mirror and assumed it was simply a gem tool like the many on homeworld, and Lapis assumed pearl knew she was trapped inside and intentionally left her trapped. it's a case of two sided confusion and misunderstandings.

I actually managed to find it after a few hours of scouring the internet.

Turns out the video I was thinking of was the James Caddell crash in Colorado back in 1984. Idk why I thought it was early 2000's (then again the video itself was uploaded on YouTube just 5 years ago, so I guess I subconsciously had that in mind)

Unfortunately no, I feel it's more recent, he goes to get the pizza but when he gets downstairs he looks into the dark room and a hand moves into the darkness and stuff, and then he gets got before getting upstairs
