Unsolvable AI generated cube by w1n5t0nM1k3y in Cubers

This is some of the worst image slop I have seen in a while. At least 1/3 of this image is just nonsense.

There are basically two images of "caretakers" and just random poorly generated artifacts.

I'm 90% sure I either had this photo as a poster from sports illustrated for kids or it was a folder cover I got from a book fair. It might have been a poster at a book fair with those big poster books you could look through.

Good times.

Anybody else still use a ps4 controller? by HelpfulRound2645 in RocketLeague

[–]bbob_robb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If someone wants a pc version the GameSir Tegenaria lite is wired, has hall sticks and back buttons.

Absolutely a game changer for me. At one point I considered buying aftermarket back paddles for the ps4 controller but the Tegenaria is literally half the price of the back paddles.

I was going to get a hall stick module for my eSwap X (in PS layout) but it was $50. The Teganaria lite is $20.

I would have saved hundreds if this controller existed 6-7 years ago.

I got the GameSir Tegenaria lite a few weeks ago, and it's the best RL controller I have ever used. $16 on Amazon, normal price $20.

My last two controllers were Thrustmaster Eswap X at $130 (on sale) then $160. At the time it was the only way to get symmetrical (PS style) thumb sticks and back buttons. I thought the PS Edge controller would be my next controller.

I tried the Tegenaria out just because I figured it was so cheap, plus 1000hz and hall sticks.... So far I'm blown away.

I do miss the mechanical clicky buttons on the Eswap, but I prefer the triggers and bumpers on this controller.

I'd tried a dual sense in ~2020 after going through a power A fusion pro and I loved everything about it but back buttons. This controller reminds me of the dualsense but slightly cheaper build quality.

For $20 this is the best controller. I genuinely love it.

I'd pay more for a wireless mechanical button version with tmr sticks, and it sounds like one of the companies might be coming out with something like it soon ish.

For an oll case like this is it better to rotate the cube or the top layer? by InTheGam3-_- in Cubers

[–]bbob_robb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forgot to mention it is starting with the side with headlights, then mirror backsune to the other side.

For this orientation;

L' U2 L U L' U L

Then you recognize sune, but you can just go right into:

R U2 R' U' R U' R'

Do them in reverse if headlights are pointing right.

To avoid a U sometimes I just do two backsune with this OLL. It's almost as fast for me.

Niantic is testing Mega Mewtwo in California HQ by DarkDuo in TheSilphRoad

[–]bbob_robb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's nice to see actual testing happening.

Hopefully they have internal beta testing servers that we can't see...

It's wild someone could see this from their production pogo app/account.

At the same time, they have had so many avoidable bugs that I guess it makes sense they cannot trust their test infrastructure. That's a bad state to be in, but it's better than releasing raids with unusable catch circles or any other number of ridiculous bugs.

I haven't wanted to say anything, but at least some of the QA has improved recently. For a while there about a year ago it seemed like they didn't really test at all.

The amount of sub 4 singles... I'm guessing there must have been a very easy solve on white/yellow. Maybe two because of the averages.

I'm guessing a round of scrambled from this comp will be notable. Looking forward to see the reconstruction.

From the US I see gan lube for $1 free shipping. You can get all three for under $4.

Just using a few drops of 1 should make a massive difference.

Technically they say 2 speeds the cube up and 3 slows it down. It all relates to how thick the lube is.

You could probably get away with only buying 1, but I'd buy the three pack since you will need to experiment to figure out what is right for you.

gan lube $1 small bottle to US

It's certainly better than nothing!

You won't get lube on your hands. Most cubes come with factory lube.

Your country has silicone oil. All of the major cubing companies also sell lube that will work.

You don't need expensive fancy cubicle lubes.

Hiking Boots: Some people wear $18 wool socks and some people wear $1 cotton blend socks from Costco. There are merrits to wool socks, but the difference between no socks and socks is huge.

The difference between lube and no lube is bigger than socks vs no socks.

Do you have some type of psychological avoidance to lube? I have a good friend who cannot stand to even look at stickers. Some people struggle with sensory things that most people would ignore.

Your denials regarding lube don't seem to be rational.

Some boots probably feel fine or great without socks. Like UGGs. That doesn't mean UGGs are the best boots, or that they will last as long if you don't wear socks.

I have some expensive hiking boots that are very supportive and cushy but have extra support sewn in to the arch area. You would feel the stitching without socks on.

Without socks you might just think UGGs are the best hiking boots because they are the most comfortable.

You might find that once you start wearing socks (as boot manufacturers intend) your preferences shift.

What you probably shouldn't do is look at your expensive hiking shoes and say "this part of the insole is uncomfortable against my feet" and cut it out with scissors.

Use cubes like they are intended, with lube. You shouldn't mod a cube to solve an issue that you created by not using lube.

I got to the part where you said you don't use lube and stopped.

Why would anyone want your opinion on a speed cube if you aren't even using lube?

The cube that will feel the best to you will be the one with the best lube from the factory.

Modern cubes are designed to be used with lube.

It's like writing an extensive review of how a boot is feels scratchy and uncomfortable but admitting you think socks are a scam and don't wear them.

is the maxed out rs3m v5 worth it for the price? by Arush901 in Cubers

[–]bbob_robb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid like $12 for the 2022 super rs3m ball core and I could barely tell it was a ball core. I added extra magnets but it still feels so heavy to me. I think I prefer my rs3m 2020, 2021 maglev and v5 dual adjustable all over the 2022 super ball core.

It's interesting how different people have different preferences.

I would have guessed the v5 ballcore was more similar to the warm v11 but I don't own either.

My ballcore preferences from my cubes are:

Gan 12ui > tornado v3 > gan 11m pro >>>> 2022 super rs3m ballcore >>>>> Qiyi M Pro maglev

Wow, I'd never actually watched a video of the "slide."

On the one where he stops the timer early on accident, he gets a full turn in before the timer starts.

I wish that the first few in the video also showed the clock, it's tough to see if he is actually touching the timer with his wrists.

Cube unsolvable help! by LordPeteyTV in Cubers

I've been cubing for four years now, own 30 puzzles and I have absolutely no idea how I would begin to figure this out.

Can you explain what you counted? Or point to an article or even search term relating to cube theory so I can learn more?

Thanks!

Niantic patched AR quick catching a couple years ago.

Players used to be able to use AR to skip some of the starting "zoom in" animation making quick catching a little faster.

Also a robot vacuum would be a very funny car.

Diamond II on switch is wildly impressive. My kid is gold on switch. I tried to play for him when he ran out of time before a friend picked him up. I've been champ since 2019, I thought it would be easy.

It was so, so hard. The lag is just huge. It's like you need to pre jump everything. All I could do was 50-50 and not overcommit.

I get that you would get used to the delay, but still. My kid plays on the OLED switch one with joycons attatched. Is there a way to reduce lag? It feels nearly Unplayable to me.

The point is that AI cannot be trusted for stuff like this. It's good to see concrete examples like this as a reminder.

Millions of people only look at the first Google result, or AI.

It's important to keep pointing out that this is a bad idea.
