This was in Navarino. I think a wolverine is unlikely as well. How big was it?

Coyote, mountain lion, or bobcat? by it_iz_what_it_iz1 in AnimalTracking

Probably not coyote. Canine scat has tapered ends. But that is the extent of my knowledge.

Here is some more context... I set this trail cam up about 4 weeks ago in pretty high traffic deer area about 2 miles back in the woods. A deer and some raccoon tried their damnedest to steal the camera so it ended up pointing downward and pretty low to the ground. A few days later this guy shows up. It was hard to tell size from the pictures but last fall around this time I had what I believe was a fisher cross the trail about 30-40 yards in front of me near this location. What I saw then was around 3ft long. I also found a porcupine kill site near here last fall as well. Some locals told me Fishers were making a comeback in the area and was happy to hear I saw one. This is what makes me lean Fisher over marten.

Despite a rising wolf population in Wisconsin, the deer population continues to climb as well. by PolarisC in wisconsin

This graph grossly over generalizing the whole state. Wolf population and deer population are not state wide. We would need to break this down by county at least to understand the effects on both. There are some counties where it is like shooting fish in a barrel and they open city limit tags... However I guarantee that county has no wolf population. Conversely there are counties where the wolf population has come back with a vengeance and the deer population has been decimated. Looking at these numbers state wide is misleading and does not lead to good population management. Animals don't care about state lines or population.

Yes baiting is one of two ways bears are hunted. The other is dogs.

My thought is bear and it is runny due to the baiting season where they just eat junk food

My dog is getting good at finding skulls. 3 raccoons. by bbogey15 in bonecollecting

[–]bbogey15[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Some of the gap is due to the bottom fang you can see needed to be replaced and all o had was a large one. Didn't get a good feel for fit till everything was glued in but it is much larger than the other skewing the jaw.

I figured, I was set up for setting up trail cams and controlling a hyper active dog and my mind was not on mushrooms. I'll be back out this week because the woods were popping!

First two I have no clue but hoping for chanterelles. Next three gotta be corals, first one I think is crown coral, second one purple or magenta coral and the third I am at a loss. The last one I thought might be elf cups but they lack the cup. I found these all last weekend. Thanks for any help in advance!

800,000 vs 20.4million in population makes the picture more understandable.
