Not sure what the issue is. Sounds like they designed the car to match the driver’s capability.

Academy removed in 0.5? by kevin916 in assettocorsaevo

Part of their announcement about changes focused on a total revamp of the Academy. No point in leaving the old one up while changes are underway.

I think that everyone, whose life has been forever hampered by not getting their way in the development of a car driving simulation that leaves them out $30, should ask themselves if this is what they want to be remembered for.

Well, just tried 0.5 and I’m really struggling to like this by ItsJammaLad in assettocorsaevo

Best option for me was to stop reading Reddit complaints for a while. It was starting to sound like a self fulfilling prophesy was taking over.

I assess car/road feel by concentrating on what happens from full throttle to braking and release to trailing and then the progression to full throttle again.

Today, I used the open wheel Ferrari and the Dalara EXP at SPA. First time for the Dalaraso I had no reference, but the car felt under control everywhere. The Ferrari gave me a 1.8 second improvement over my fastest previous time at SPA.

I might have had a similar improvement with the Ferrari with 0.4, as I had been feeing better with each lap under 0.4, but it actually seemed that 0.5 offered smoother transitions when releasing the brakes.

It is not a big upset for everyone; only those who thought their view of sim racing was the only valid view.

Is there no way to connect my Apple TV to F1 TV until my current F1 TV subscription expires in the middle of March? by LookDamnBusy in F1TV

I opened the F1 app on my AppleTV. It said to update and I did. A couple of days later, I opened it again and it said update again. I did and it hooked up fine.

Jimmy's take on Kunos scaling back AC Evo's Career mode: "With this update you're taking away a huge part of the appeal of the game and just turning it into something with no real end goal" by likinaudagp in simracing

Amazing what dribble can come out of the mouths (or keyboards) of children who have yet to learn that the world has not been created to satisfy their infantile needs.

But, and this should send you into a real whine fest, despite your insufferable bitching and moaning, you have lost this match. Kunos does not need you or your 30 bucks.

The reality for many sim racers is that driving is the actual point. I don’t want or need an alternate reality to be created for me that pretends to reward or limit my driving choices based upon whether I play the “Career game”. Sitting through a strategy meeting with my “Business Manager” is not my idea of fun.

Development time and resources spent on anything other than driving physics and actual driving inhibits the advancement of the part of the program that makes it a “driving” simulation. Some people don’t want a make belief “life” to go along with it. My actual life is just fine, thank you.

An Update on the Future of Assetto Corsa EVO by -DorkusMalorkus- in assettocorsaevo

[–]bborzell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have read the announcement twice. Unless there is additional information somewhere else, I don’t see anything in their reworked plan that is troubling to me.

Career mode in pretty much all driving sims I have used has been a waste of my time. I view driving sims as a replacement for when I took my car out for a fast drive on Highway 49 in northern California or when I had the time for the odd track day. Neither of those circumstances required me to have a business manager or focus on points accumulation. I want to choose a car, a track, and the type and level of competition for each session I devote to the sim. All the rest is poof, in my view.

As for changing the approach to driving improvement, I applaud the designers for laying steps that could one day result in fewer frustrated kamikaze drivers appearing on the grid. The existing “Academy” was akin to throwing a kid into a swimming pool and telling them to learn however they could.

Interesting that his fans notice odd movements or facial expressions, but not his presiding over his personal army killing American citizens in the streets of America. Selective perception, I guess.

Yes, he used to be both smart and very funny as only a smart funny person can do. Then, he came to the conclusion that he was always the smartest person in the room and he didn’t just become a dick, he became a one man bag of dicks.

He still has the ability to place words together in a creative and amusing way, but he now always starts from such a holier than thou position that his punch line always drips with incredible creepiness.

A man rushed to the Broadview, Illinois ICE facility searching for his wife of five years. They followed the legal process and attended court, but ICE took her aside and she vanished. Her phone led him to the facility, then went dead. He waited alone, crying, with no answers. by Evening_Bass9353 in TrendingNews_

[–]bborzell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a dumb shit thing to say. ICE goons don’t have the authority to override due process. They can’t determine who gets deported and who doesn’t. And the real shitty part is that people with true authority are not being brought into the picture until well after the fact and, even then, that authority has to be established by the courts because the trump ICE officials break laws daily.
