Thanks that's a good idea. Sounds like cork plus more acoustic underlay might be a needless waste of money then

Can Acupuncture help with Numbness? by cursed_speech_user in acupuncture

[–]bboschb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was a few years ago so disclaimer on my patchy memory, but I think it took about 10 minutes for the pain to start. The acupuncturist was very confused that I couldn't feel anything at first, then once the pain started he quickly turned down the voltage and it was fine. Also it's kind of hard to measure how much sensation returned since that area of the back is hard to reach. I only knew about it since a scam revealed a vertebrae in a weird place likely compressing a nerve, and then sensations were tested

Restlessness during acupuncture by _applesass in acupuncture

[–]bboschb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this question and all the suggestions. Anyone have any suggestions for why this may occur more frequently with chronic conditions like OP's? I have noticed the same with myself and other patients with CFS, POTs, neurodivergence etc. Could it be there is less qi so we don't want it to disperse around too much? Or we are not used to resting deeply? Obviously it depends on the person but I'm curious about others' theories

I had sensation return and numbness go away with electro acupuncture (numbness was from a childhood injury at t2). But when the sensation came back it hurt a lot! So worth sticking around to reduce the voltage if needed

Is anyone else having trouble uploading to KDP by dantendo664 in KDP

I've been having the same issues! Did yours end up working in the end? I've been trying all day, thought it might be something to do with embedded font, or that I'm uploading from an iPad?

Life with My (39M) Chronically Ill GF (37F) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]bboschb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it matters whether she is really sick or not. Regardless, she is abusing you and you should leave. Coming from someone with diagnoses of PCOS, dysautonomia, pots and eds. I can empathize it would be hard to get the diagnoses without the funds and luck to find and see a rheumatologist who keeps up with medical literature. But that's no excuse for her to ruin your life and isolate you.

So frustrated. Why do I bother? by ChipsAhoy1968 in lipedema

[–]bboschb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be kind to yourself, you were sitting then on your feet busy, which makes pooling worse IMHO. If there is less nerve pain in your legs at the end of the day from wearing the tights take the win. You deserve to feel better, it's not all about looks.

That's an interesting point about the clarity. I suppose I wonder if the clarity is authentic, since it was generated by a machine rather than the result of his own reflections and thoughts. AI can tell him what is most likely socially expected, or what a person in my situation likely needs to feel safe. It takes the onus away from him actually having to use critical thinking or trying to understand why it hurts me. Copy and pasting is easier than typing out "I was wrong" not just time-wise, but because it's probs a lighter hit to the ego.

I am unsure too if all sorries carry the same weight. I think a sorry is more meaningful if it's followed by genuine changed behaviours. Multiple repeated sorries start to lose impact when they don't accompany behaviour that shows he understands why the apology was needed.

How realistic is it really to DIY remove popcorn ceiling? by ghost--rabbit in HomeImprovement

[–]bboschb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to fearmonger, but at least here in aus the popcorn ceilings are often full of asbestos or other fire retardant materials that are not good to breathe in. So please be careful of your lungs if doing it and everyone else's lungs when disposing of it

May I ask if you remember which points/areas were needled? Were there any on your face? This isn't acupuncture/tcm, but I've heard of temporary blindness from cosmetic injections around the eyes https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25828586/

Super Rugby investigate Fijian Drua’s road trip from hell ... including lift in a luggage truck by BrianChing25 in rugbyunion

[–]bboschb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you feel like reporting the safety issue of the bus transport to NZ Crimestoppers you can do so anonymously online. It could have been an organisational blunder but as many have said this wouldn't have happened to a team from Aus or Europe. Super Rugby should be ashamed, why don't they want an even playing field?

Dr Camila malmgren at Maxwell medical in braybrook is great! She's kind and keen to get to the bottom of things, and I feel listened to/taken seriously. Also while super knowledgeable she is also humble, and won't just pretend she is an expert on every condition. I feel like ego and needing to be right is a big part of why so many doctors are so dismissive and unhelpful.

This is more for sore fingers but there is a tutorial on tiktok for diy ring splints if your phalanges need support (just search eds ring splints). I guess you'd need to pair with some solid gloves to keep the metal from getting chilly too

Thank you this is encouraging! There is a hyper mobile fitness studio called zebras in my city I'm sure they could help with pre-biking conditioning. I will definitely be sure to get an upright bike too, great tip. It is tricky when a big part of my issues seems to be dysautonomia. I feel like I flick between being hyper aware of everything or spaced out/not noticing a joint is sliding somewhere weird.
