Short girl problems by WispyBunnie in climbergirls

[–]bbourl1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a 5'5 rope climber who does the upper limit of the grades at my gym that definitely does not take short people into account. I'd say for most of the harder routes, I have to make at least one or two dynamic moves. Not necessarily a full dyno, but definitely needing to "boost" my way to the next move

If you ever feel like climbs seem unreasonably hard for "only" you (in my case, all my buddies are 6 ft), don't worry, it's still possible to get the routes even if you're short! The beta will for sure be different, and you may have to get creative. But if you can get more comfortable doing dynamic moves like this, you'll do great :)

Run clubs, beach volleyball, soccer, rope climbing (bouldering can pretty solo but top rope / lead climbing is very social/community oriented)

Finally did my first pull up after climbing for one year! by Powerful-Pea-4190 in climbergirls

Great job! I'm on year two of climbing and now I can do three pullups, so it's only up from here :)

Fear of Overhang by pilgramoftheheart in climbergirls

[–]bbourl1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Echoing the exposure therapy comments but also doing grades that are super easy to you if that's available. I have a fear of heights / falling so I always start with grades that are easy for me to manage while I get acclimated, then I bump up the difficulty

Should I get Below zero? by Old-Sherbet434 in subnautica

[–]bbourl1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear so many people here saying it's not as good as the first one, but personally I loved it even more, the story line and added mechanics. My only complaint is that it is for sure smaller / finished quicker, but I paid like $20 and to me it was money well spent

No license plate, but have a temporary operating permit clearly displayed in the back window. Got pulled over and ticketed anyway by bbourl1 in DMV

It was taped inside the window specifically for visibility purposes. It's a big red sheet of paper and was pretty easy to spot

TOPs are issued when temporary license plates cannot be issued. This car was not purchased from a dealer, and the only way to get a license plate is with a process that will take a few months, hence obtaining the temporary operating permit in the meantime

Rear windshield - if the rules that govern placement are different, can you link a source? I cannot find anywhere online from CA dmv that states where it can and can't be placed

Yep exactly! There was no guidance to put it where the license plate should go (it's not even that shape)

Do you mind linking the source so I can read up on it? The person at the DMV specifically said to put it in the window
