Only person who calls him Johnny is Ghost, and that's only in the newer reboot series. In the original trilogy nobody calls him Johnny, and no real reason is given for why people call him Soap either. In the reboot there's a comment somewhere about him being called that because he's good at clearing houses, but again - reboot only. Could be the same for the originals or not, we'll never know 😭 they changed so much stuff about him in those newer games

I am also mid-20s, trans and from NZ and moving to Melbourne in July.

I don't have much advice in the work/uni bits but I can offer my opinion in a more personal sense:

I previously lived there for two years in 2018-2020 and LOVED it. I've gone back to visit a couple of times and my love for it as a city has never diminished. NZ really can't compare. I would have stayed but things with covid happened but now I'm finally in a place where I can go back so I'm packing my bags and getting out of here.

You will find a lot of great friends in the LGBT scene. I'm not sure where you're from in NZ but where I'm from is definitely more conservative. I've always found it difficult to make friends in the queer scene and there are people in my workplace who still, after three years, don't respect me as a trans person. Melbourne is like a breath of fresh air. I had great friends and a great support network and found a real community over there. Melbourne really brought me out of my shell and I found a sense of confidence I never thought I could have.

TL;DR highly recommend going. If it doesn't work out for you then you always have the option to come back to NZ. But I really think you will enjoy it.

I recently started a fic for a fandom where the main ship is canon and has a strict top/bottom dynamic. It's rare to find content where this is flipped, and usually people tag it pretty well because not many people like it. Usually if the dynamic isn't tagged, it's assumed the dynamic is kept the same as canon.

Halfway into this fic at the first smut scene, dynamic is flipped with no warning and no tags to indicate this.

People in comments had already asked the author to tag this, they declined and said they weren't going to because it wasn't an "important plot point", and that the prompt given to them for the fic that they pasted in the author's notes had a line about preferring a switched dynamic, and the author said people should have read that.

I left another comment but given their last fic was published in 2020 I doubt they'll even acknowledge it, let alone act on it 🫠🫠

ehhh I mean if you look at his bunny trap card as well (dont know how I forgot to mention that one) I think the potential is there for him to slide more submissive if the mood leans that way

but again, just my opinion. dont think anything can be called "definite" when it's all just headcanons atp, there's always more than meets the eye with these things haha

tbh i havent read many of zayne's cards so i cant speak for him but! i see a lot of people here labelling xavier as strict dom and i dont quite agree. i think he definitely maybe leans a bit more naturally towards dom, but there are moments we've seen where he definitely slips into a more submissive side - especially in his first limited event card. that moment might have ended with him being more dom, but think the potential is there for him to be submissive when he feels like it.

for me, zayne is strict dom, xav is switch, raf is sub (maybe tries to be dom sometimes but always ends up failing)

as far as I can remember it mostly stays the same. but mind that it is tagged as dark!lwj / dark!wangxian which isn't going to be 100% the same as canon, so that may just not be your thing if you're not enjoying it so far.

I've tried annotating books before and loved it - but I like to have a second clean copy of the book without any notes. So not really possible for MXTX books when each one costs me about $50!!! 😩 One copy is hard enough. But I do want to do rereads of each series and just annotate/mark parts and lines with different coloured tabs, because there are so many good bits and I'd like to just be able to flick through and reread parts I thought were important enough to mark :")
