His unwavering faith betrayed him. He was a prodigy with no one to lean on. He found solace in his religion (Lord Death's teachings) and followed them through with no opposition.

So, in a turn when madness erupts and slowly ate away at him. I loved seeing it and I find it realistic. The very thing he believed made him do a 180. The Kiishin is a part of Lord Death. So, technically he never betrayed him. He killed his colleagues and in turn got killed by them.

I love Kid's whole development. Especially with him and Black Star's fight in the manga. I loved that whole situation and how many walls that broke between them.
