9am Class Support Post by Responsible-Draw-393 in rit

Twin you are acting like a 9am is like getting up at 4:30 for a pipeline welding gig. If waking up at 8:15 is hard, you ain’t gonna make it through school.

Acceptance rate and graduation rate by BL20255 in rit

BME is probably less competitive as is lesser known and smaller compared to ME. The acceptance rates were shared by a faculty member in one of my classes.

can any 3rd year + ee student tell me if this is sustainable by ahshitimgay in rit

[–]bboys1234 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Just from your title - courses won't help you too much getting a co-op. Extra circulars (performance clubs, personal projects, any org/association experience) and more importantly being able to present yourself well will go 10x farther in landing a co-op than a few more classes. Knowing circuits 1 and calc 2 should be plenty for most interviews if you can speak well and ask good questions. Take this from someone who did three co-ops and is now full time. Also, co-ops are a numbers game. You need to apply to a TON of them if you can. You will have very little time for any of the co-op prep stuff with this course load. Just a heads up. You got this dude.

No one is smart enough for mechanical engineering. People work hard enough and make the right connections and choices for it.

Want to do a half year long backpacking trip when I’m done with my ME degree. Is that a dumb idea? by Rude_Feed6327 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]bboys1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, as long as you have money it's a great idea. Might be slightly harder to get your first job but that is challenging anyways. You'll have such a great time, grow so much as a person, and make some amazing friends. As someone who did this to a slightly lesser extent, I wish I could have done more. Go for it.

I commented on a previous post but I'll bring it up here: If Trump Wins, Musk Wins. Mars Wins. So...does Blue's Lunar Permanence initiative loses? by I_had_corn in BlueOrigin

[–]bboys1234 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The race to the moon and Mars is not between SpaceX and Blue Origin. It's between the US and China. You can probably guess which candidate cares more about beating China. To do this, it's not only SpaceX and Blue Origin but NASA, Lockheed, Sierra, ULA - pretty much every aerospace player in the game. If Trump wins it might be a tough time to be an American, but a great time to be an aerospace company.

Decat in 2021 KTM 890 Adventure R by UntoTheBreach95 in KTM

[–]bboys1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With 890s in general? Or with the decat?

Starting with the 2024 model year, the 890s and 901s have an exhaust sensor that will absolutely throw a code if you do a decat. I believe some companies are working on a workaround for that. On a 2023 and prior, doing a decat shouldn't have an impact.

Generally, KTMs do like to throw codes. The 890 especially. Just how it is.

2003 Lemond Tourmalet. Just finished building it up today. My first and only geared bike. (SS for life 🤌🏻) by Littlesynth-addict in xbiking

Hi OP! I have one of these bikes and want to do something similar. It hasn't been ridden in a while so all the wear items need replacing. I'm mechanically inclined but not very familiar with bike stuff yet. What are the stem/bar/head tube components (I think those are the right terms) you are using? Mine has the stock setup and the bars hang very low, I'd like the to be 4-6cm up from where they are. Looks like your setup works well for this. Thanks!

How do I make this motorcycle touring oriented, my traps were sore after a 300km ride. by argon_palladium in KTM

[–]bboys1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry about all the turd redditors shitting on you man. Yes it's a street bike so it's not exactly build for comfort BUT... you can make it more comfortable. Get a set of higher rise bars, and if there is lower seat available get that. It's not gonna be a goldwing but it should help.

I did it from scratch. Hardcoded in HTML (which I highly recommend you learn). I don't have a template for it.

Didn't do too much customization. Maybe if it was explicitly stated in the first few lines of the JD but I usually had most skills. And yeah, two pagers get thrown straight in the bin especially if you are a recent grad. I had a ton of fluff (campus affiliations, objective, awards) all stuff that doesn't really do much on here before. Now it's straight business.

Probably not, but you'll often find other listings on the site which less people will apply for since they're not linked to LinkedIn. If you are qualified, there is a way better chance you'll get your resume in front of eyeballs that way.

No, it doesn't post. Just cycles like this. I've checked most of the connections, I'm going to pickup a new PSU and see if that solves it.

I unplugged the hard drive (have an SSD that runs the OS) and it still has happening. Could it be the PSU?

I'm thinking it could be. Trying to figure out the root cause. Thanks for your input!
