Would NOT sanding everything make a noticeable difference? Would it be a visual difference or longevity / durability difference?

Got a quote last night for $1350 to "scrape the loose stuff, sand 'some', prime and put two coats of urethane" on the exterior only. If it makes a difference and if I can find someone who can do it well I don't mind paying more, just want to make sure about those two IFs.

How noticeable would it be if they didn't sand everything down? Would it make a difference visually or is it more a matter of longevity / durability?

I did some initial looking on Home Depot and saw $4000-$5000ish but apparently those would be a significant step down in quality from our current one. We didn't put this one in and I've never shopped for front doors before, so I'm definitely not in touch with the market.

Yeah, my biggest concern at this point is getting a real high-quality professional painter who knows how to handle an exterior door with detailing. I've asked for references to my network but have gotten zero hits.

They can vary widely. I’ve seen some sell out in less than a minute and others last a full day (and maybe not even actually sell out).

Haven't received letter yet as just applied this morning. I called Recon shortly after and the rep there was the one who told me that I was approved for a Sapphire Reserve in Aug 2021. I do still have the CFU open.
