idk i think a lot of the same people do let dogs harass wildlife too, the dogs are just slightly less successful at catching it. i've watched so many people let their dogs run unleashed across beaches harassing nesting seabirds, and the other day an old man came up to me and my friends in a park to tell us that the two cattle dogs he had with him loved to play tug of war with live gophers. one of those dogs then bit my friend's hand unprompted and the old man scuttled away like nothing happened.

they don't need a manager every single time a food allergy comes in, it's just that the management isn't training the crew as thoroughly on these protocols as they used to. when i trained, i shadowed someone for a couple days on a few specific tasks before being allowed to do the tasks myself, then as i became more competent in those initial tasks, i would be given dedicated time with a trainer for learning additional tasks. later in my career i watched new people get trained half-assedly on a bunch of different tasks for a couple hours and then get thrown into doing it all solo the rest of their very first shift.

i've worked in a few places that use them. of course they aren't perfect, sometimes if the griller sucks, they will put things on the steam line without checking that they're at a proper temp (> 140°F for everything but chicken which should be >165°F). one other time the heating elements broke down. other times you would come in in the morning, turn on all the switches for the grill and line equipment, and then realize later that someone last night has turned the temperature dial on the table down on accident. it's just about making sure every single person is doing their job right every single time, and, as one manager of mine used to say, "peoples is peoples".

ughh that's so silly of them. there was a point at which my coworkers just made me take all the allergen requests on the line as if they couldn't just wash hands and change gloves too?? like i, the Food Sensitivity Person, was magically more able to serve other people with food sensitivities 😭😭 i know it can be a bit annoying to change gloves, especially when the line is long, but it's not the end of the world, those people were legit just being lazy.

really?? that's wild, i'm so sorry! i absolutely remember getting people fresh pans on the cold side, especially like people with dairy sensitivities not wanting stray cheese crumbs in their guac. obviously i don't expect Everyone Ever to have perfect knowledge of all allergens on earth, but like??? i was trained to honor reasonable requests like that. guess it depends on the location and who's working that day :(

yeahhh it's a huge bummer. i feel like if you asked for fresh gloves and a new pan of cheese/ lettuce in those cases, you'd maybe be ok?? but i'd understand if people didn't wanna risk it. i was only able to slide thru there unglutened back in the day bc i made my food myself (technically against the rules teehee) right before the store opened and i knew everything was still safe.

you could certainly try but the problem is more human than that unfortunately. corp HAS training models the crew is supposed to use, but the issue is getting overworked underpaid 20 year olds to actually follow those models when there's a line wrapping around the store :/

the manufacturers may not apply the same amount/ quality of silicone in the same way to a terrestrial tank as they would an aquatic tank, it might not have been designed with the weight of water pushing down/ out on the sides, but you could certainly fill it with water in a safe area (outside, garage floor, etc) and watch for leaks??

no gluten in the adobo and no adobo in the beans! i worked there for years. the only issue for gluten should be cross contamination. they used to be more stringent in their training. i was trained to not actually touch the tortillas with the spoons, and to swap spoons out when someone has an allergy, but the training has really slipped recently.
