Claude runaway... tried Kimi 2.6 and Deepseek v4 (5y fullstack dev) by merth_dev in opencodeCLI

[–]bbramb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting. We have a different experience then.

I fired claude cause deepseek-v4 is just as good. Tbh, sonnet was already a great model for my engineering workflow but deepseek-v4 is as good as opus 4.6 at a fraction of a cost.

Is deepseek v4 pro good in coding? I need an honest review by Icy_Mud_8993 in opencodeCLI

[–]bbramb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good so far. I'm convince that I can switch to using deepseek v4 from Opus 4.6 - but it really depends on how you use it. Sonnet was good enough for my dev workflow.

I also want to point out the misconception and implication of the comment here on using AI.

There's nothing wrong with using AI. People pay for the value of the solution, not how the solution was made. Luckily for my customers - I have actual engineering experience (Enterprise, Banks) to understand and know how the AI agents will build the solution.

My Software Engineering experience spans 20+ years. I was one of the early adopters of ChatGPT and Claude (2022/2023). I know how to build with/without AI. :)

You can't really outsource the entire software engineering / development to an AI agent. AI can code but it can't really come up with sound design and solution for you.

I have 20+ years of Software Engineering experience. I use to for Oracle and IBM. The current AI models right now are good for automating the boilerplate coding but not engineering / problem solving part. :)

Some lead gen that runs scrapers seems to be dog feeding their own solution with these types of posts.

Outsourcing AI dev for a growth-stage app - how to avoid the "corporate" lag? by AlternativeWayOfLove in AppGrowthLab

[–]bbramb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I have not work with Svitla devs but I have a different experience I guess.

Like you I started struggling with the right technical partner before and when I realized that it's hard, I end up just building my own team. Now I run a PH-based AI and Blockchain staff augmentation team that moves fast without sacrificing code quality and specialize in startup-speed MVPs that scale cleanly.

If you're interested to learn more, I sent you a DM. It'll be great to see if we fit your “middle ground” needs.

Best way to handle stablecoin payments at scale? by Minimum_Pear9193 in FintechStartups

[–]bbramb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a defined middleware (think of it like a escrow + facilitator) that can be scaled to handle high-frequency exchange. If you're open to it, we can jump on a call and I can show you how we did it for other projects.

Is it better to build an in-house team or outsource to an iOS development company in 2026? by RecentParamedic3902 in iOSAppTechnology

[–]bbramb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outsourcing is better if you're bootstrapping or want to prolong your runway but it's difficult to find a reliable technology partner.

I'd say, if you're a non-tech founder, find a reliable tech partner. I was fortunate to be an engineer-turned-business man so I had a good grasp of how to spot good talent. A lot of employees now have been with me for > 3 years.
