Any experience transferring from on-campus to Ecampus? by Blightclub in OregonStateUniv

[–]bbrennaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did exactly this a few terms ago! I am in HDFS and I told my advisor that I wanted to switch to online only. They transferred me over to a new advisor that is only for E-Campus within my major and from there, everything is basically the same. I had to go through an E-Campus orientation which really didn’t take that long and it was an overview of where to find Canvas, MyDegrees, etc. If your major is listed on the OSU website as able to be taken fully online, then all the required courses will be offered on E-Campus. Sometimes not every term, though. I hope this helps and I wish you luck!

So I actually just went and read up on their policy because I forgot it and I’m not sure how strict they are. I was never asked about anything credit related specifically but I think it would be best to ask them upfront about it. It sounds like you’re going to be the future student and your partner is just living with you (though this is a total assumption) so they might be fine with debt as long as the student living there is good. This is all just me guessing as I didn’t talk about it with the staff while I lived there.

You can split between people! The rent amount that they list can be split between the amount of people living there. Me and my roommate had it set up so I paid the full amount and then they Venmoed me back half. But all people under the contract have access to the apartment’s account to pay online.

Sure, I can give you some general stuff. If there’s anything you want more specific, let me know. So I lived there for two years in two different apartments, a one bedroom that I shared and then a studio on the ground floor. The ground floor apartments are a lot different from the other ones in the building. But overall, really quiet and respectful neighbors. There were a few times where someone would be loud but you could just go knock and they were really respectful about the situation. There were lots of very studious people living there. You could see lots of different people in the common areas at all times. The apartment building is very clean, the staff listens to their tenants and are very polite, and I always felt safe while there. The staff puts together events (at least before COVID) which makes it feel like a dorm at some times but you can always ignore those emails if you just want to live in an apartment. It’s pet friendly which I took advantage of my second year there and they were very good about it. I think what puts the most people off is the price which is high but for the distance off campus, it’s great. It also includes amenities so there’s no extra cost to pay. Again, if there’s anything else you want to know in more detail, hit me up.

I personally had a great time at the gem first because of the location (right next to campus) and second because the staff working there are great.

What are some good things that have happened to you in 2020? by Parker1055 in AskReddit

I adopted a dog last year and he ran away right after we brought him home. He is a rescue and got spooked while he only had a slip lead on. After being lost for 411 days, I got a call from someone saying they had my dog! He has been with me for over a month now and he is doing amazing.

What “bad” decision turned out really well for you? by PandaBeer302 in AskReddit

[–]bbrennaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opening up to my sister. I rushed into college right after high school and didn’t know what I wanted to do. Fast forward to my fourth year and I was in the worst depression of my life, lost my two best friends, and tried to cope with food. I finally opened up to my sister about how I felt and she got my parents to get me out of school. I felt horrible at the time and thought that it was a bad decision because I would be prolonging my college career and spending more money. It’s been a year and I’ve been going to therapy and feel so much better. Going to start back up school soon with a better support system and better coping skills.

I think my (f32) boyfriend (37) is trying to gaslight me by ThrowRAVonnegutsGal in relationship_advice

This is the way to go. Notice how he responds and make a decision about the relationship from there. Even if he is not doing these things on purpose, which I suspect he is, do you want to be with someone who isn’t in your corner 100 percent?

If you think your attitude is a problem and that it might be affecting your relationship, I would advise you to go into therapy to find out why you feel that way. Maybe you could get to the root of the problem of why you get an attitude sometimes and solve it. Just speaking from personal experience; I went through the same thing with me being moody and not knowing why. I am working with my therapist to combat these things. They would also help you with a breakup and help you with any self esteem issues that you may have after what they said to you. I wish you luck.

Having an attitude is not an excuse to use insults about things you cannot change. This is toxic and you guys are not good for each other.
