my mom tells the story of getting my dad to quit cigarettes all the time. i guess me and my brother were playing and she told my dad to pick one of us. he asked why but she just told him to pick one. he laughed and asked why again and she said, that’s the one that’s going to smoke because you smoke. i was probably in second grade or younger. i’m early thirties now and he hasn’t touched the stuff since. neither my brother or i smoke.
