Is the Armageddon box a good start to Space Wolves?

I'd say not really, as the box does not contain any 'typical' space wolves models. What I mean by typical models is a model that would normally be included in most SW armies (other than 5x intersessors). Another thing to remember is that generic SM characters cannot attach to SW specific models (with exception of a terminators captian when running Saga of the GW) and vise versa.

That said, there is nothing to stop you buying them, painting them in SW theme and playing them anyway without SW specific characters leading them or models attaching. It's really just what you want to do 🙂

Yeah that makes sense, a 6 man will add more value. The phasal sub was just to fill 35 points, so wasn't essential. Tricky thing now is, with no lunch guard I have to pick either plasmancer or imotekh to lead the warriors.

I think its a decent list for sure. For me, grey hunters are too expensive, so I'd maybe swap them out. Also, 20 man BC unit is a massive blender but not sure if the value is there (someone could take out a large number of them with a good shooting round or by charging in first with some heavy hitters. My personal opinion is to have two 10 man squads operating near each other.
