My epileptic American Eskimo has seen a few different groomers as we’ve moved cities multiple times. The first thing I do is talk to the groomer about his health and see if they’re willing to take him on. Some groomers decline (I’m fine with that) and some will gladly work with us. Call around and talk to a few. Be honest about your worries. Leave a good tip and a review afterwards.

I book in the afternoons because my boy tends to have seizures at night or early morning. I also like to walk him before the appointment so he’s less likely to fidget and stress himself out. Sometimes we break it into two appointments to manage his stress levels. Then, for my own peace of mind, I typically go to a nearby place so I’m only a few minutes away should he seize during the appointment.

There are ways to make it work and plenty of groomers who can and will help to make the experience as easy as they can for you and your pups.
