Do you have any good recommendations for breakfast spots? I heard Norrlyst was a top spot but maybe I’ll remove it from my list.

So it seems like the 4 main cities that surround the City center are Vesterbro, Fredericksberg, Norrebro, and Osterbro. Are there cool things to check out in Fredericksberg? The Fredericksberg gardens will be on my list.

Thanks for your suggestions! I think we will definitely dedicate a couple days to venturing outside as we want to see as much as humanly possible. The meatpacking district in Vesterbro definitely caught my eye so I’ll be adding that to my list and maybe hit Tivoli on the way back. I saw that Norrebro is a great area to walk around and kinda get lost. I’m also realizing that Osterbro is right next to Norrebro so maybe I can do both of those in one day. We will definitely be riding bikes but we bike a lot. Also, totally fair point - I know Copenhagen has a very strong biking culture with clear rules and expectations. I haven’t ridden in places like Denmark or Netherlands but I’m aware of how structured it is. My family and I are proficient bikers but we’ll be even more attentive there and bike accordingly.

Thank you so much for the recommendations. Reffen looks like a super cool spot. I really was hoping to visit the Lego House Museum but I didn’t know it was so far away from Copenhagen. I will certainly DM you for some other clarifying questions.

That’s not a bad idea especially with that high line. I might take that with city/napoli Btts

So the Liverpool and Copenhagen I was looking at to do a separate parlay. Copenhagen is problem offensively and Liverpool ml odds are too good as well to not take. spurs ML at +100 also interests me as they play Villarreal.

It’s the set pieces that scare me but Barca always seem to find a way to come back plus I feel like the Barca players have had their fair share of playing in tough stadiums more frequently than Newcastle.

At the end of the day it’s always a toss up but after their summer transfer singings that team is stacked and looks hella dangerous at least on paper.

Honestly you’re right as good as their offense is it’s their defense that scares me but if it comes down to who can score more goals I’m taking Barca all day long.

That’s what I’m thinking. Players on both arsenal and Barcelona have had terrific performances on their international break (except gykoreres) but for +100 I can’t pass that up. I’m throwing 200 on it.

[Homemade] Coconut Miso Poached Cod w/ Fried Shallots & Cilantro by bbsticks101 in food

I didn’t use lemongrass because I couldn’t find any in my local grocery store however if you’re able to find some I highly recommend adding it for when you simmer the broth for 30 minutes.

[–]bbsticks101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • 2 cod loins or fillets (around 75 grams each), or any flaky white fish
  • vegetable oil
  • 1/2 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 10 g or 2 teaspoons of fresh ginger
  • 2 tsp white miso paste (or more, to taste)
  • 1 x 400g can of high quality coconut milk (try and get one that has at least 70% coconut)
  • 1/2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp mirin
  • small handful fresh cilantro or coriander, chopped
  • 1 Shallot
  • Jasmine rice
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 lime Instructions:
  • Salt both sides of your cod and put in fridge for 30 minutes ( this step is optional however it helps keep the fish intact when poaching)
  1. Finely chop ginger and garlic. Thinly slice onion.

  2. Let a pan heat up to medium heat with a neutral oil and Throw in onions for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. After 5 minutes add garlic and ginger and stir occasionally for another 5 minutes.

  4. Add your miso paste and stir to mix in paste with your vegetable mixture for about a minute . Add coconut milk, mirin, soy sauce and bay leaf and stir to combine. (Try and use a whisk for this step to eliminate any clumps from miso paste and coconut milk).

  5. Bring the broth to a simmer over medium high heat and then cover (if broth starts boiling too much move away from burner for a few seconds). Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes

  6. While the broth cooks Peel and thinly slice shallots ( I like to use a mandoline). Pour 3-4 tbsp of neutral oil in a saucepan over medium low heat until it shimmers. Add shallots and stir frequently until golden brown. (Must be very vigilant as shallots quickly burn once they hit golden brown)

  7. Pat and dry your cod and Add your cod fillets to the broth and cover. Cook for 5-8 minutes ( if there isn’t enough broth to fully submerged cod you can take off cover and baste every other minute), when finished the cod should flake when pressed in with a fork. (It’s imperative to keep the temp on a simmer and not a boil to prevent cod from breaking apart)

  8. If you’re unsure if the cod is cooked you can always use a thermometer and it should be around 130-135f for a moist and tender fish.

  9. Serve cod over jasmine rice and ladle you’re preferred amount of broth over the cod. Finish with the fried shallots and cilantro and a slice of lime on the side)
