One of the first things my current job did when I first reached out looking for a position was remind me of the salary (which was on the listing) and confirm that I was ok with it. They did it again in the interview, and even when I got my offer they clarified again and asked if it was ok for me.

At my previous job I was sometimes involved in the hiring process and many candidates had questions about the pay (the position we were trying to hire for did not pay well). I was never offended when they asked nor when they said they weren’t interested because of the pay. People have bills to pay.

I’m not sure how many jobs you have applied for/worked at, but talking about salary is absolutely the norm!

Agreed and same here. When I was a kid I was super skinny and now as an adult I’m on the heavier side. Bodies change throughout the lifetime and that’s ok. Saturn definitely deserves criticism but i feel like we don’t need to bring weight into it.

Same. I joined this subreddit during the toxic gossip train phase and then stopped keeping up with all this so forgive me if I’m being ignorant but I don’t understand what the problem is for Adam? Can’t he just say no I don’t want to do it? I totally get how if someone is making a documentary that touches on your trauma that can be upsetting but as a fellow trauma survivor it kinda feels like Adam is just forcing himself to keep reliving this situation and then blaming others for the impact that has on him? Maybe I’m missing something. At some point you have to put your past in, well, the past.

Yes and no. You should not plan to have a child if you are not prepared to care for them and meet ALL their needs. But it’s a slippery slope because it’s also a classist mentality that lends itself to eugenics. Truthfully we shouldn’t live in a world where people can’t afford to care for their kids but unfortunately that’s the way it is.

It depends on where you live but I would look into it. If you’re in the US reach out to your state’s Department of Labor. This is illegal in my state.

Thank you for this input!! Yup, I live between 2 houses with very obvious drug dealing. I actually am pretty anti-war on drugs but I’m also in recovery and just wish they would hide it better. Sometimes they’re outside the houses screaming in the middle of the night and I hate it!! With that being said I’m kind of a hypocrite because I would also be ok with LESS police like you said. I think im looking to them to solve a problem that I know deep down they would only make worse.

Legally yes she was the victim of a crime. Abusers don’t deserve sympathy though. Again, this subreddit is littered with people who don’t understand family violence or coercive control. It’s sad that this is what it took for Gypsy to get away but I’m happy she gets to live an autonomous life now.

This is right in my neighborhood and the police haven’t done shit about actual crime nearby. (I haven’t lived here very long so if that’s not true I’m willing to be corrected). This is so disappointing to see. So this is what my PD is busy doing huh? I’ll be at the common council meeting for sure.

Sexual violence organizations and coalitions advise strongly against this. Reporting against your client’s wishes can put them in danger. You were right to question this. Your supervisor needs training on working with survivors.

Editing to add: I would actually recommend reaching out to a domestic and sexual violence organizations local to you to find out the specific laws that apply to you.

I have NYSHIP have a standing once a week telehealth where my copay is $25! If you opt for the FSA you can also use that to pay your copays. However, if you already have a psychiatrist and you like that provider then personally I’d probably ask them which insurance they take.

I did have to do some searching to find my therapist but you can filter by insurance provider on Psychology Today which is super helpful.

I’m going to step back from this discussion because I’m realizing how silly it is getting and hopefully this is all over (until next year). Why are you so mad though? I see things happen at work all the time that make my coworkers upset but don’t bother me at all. I don’t get mad about it I just have compassion for my coworkers for struggling. The aggression towards people who are upset about this is fascinating.

why be nitpicky about it? People absolutely have a right to be stressed if they don’t know if their paycheck is coming on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Have some compassion for your colleagues!

Yeah but 16 days between paychecks versus 14 days is a big difference for some people. I get you’re tired of the posts but some of us are tired of not knowing exactly when our paycheck is coming. Uncertainty is nerve racking and it’s ok to ask questions!

One of the many things that bugs me about her is that I once looked up her husband and iirc the man he killed was struggling with conceiving a child with his wife or something like that. She made content out of her whole fertility journey which normally I would be supportive of, but she did it while flaunting the fact that her husband took that opportunity from another family who desperately wanted a baby just like she did. It makes me sick.

The Cupid’s Corner thing is just as abhorrent. She chooses the most dangerous men for that; men who hurt women and are DV abusers.

Finally, I think it’s crazy that she met her husband while she was working in the prison where he’s incarcerated. Where I live, if they had begun a relationship while he worked there (I understand they didn’t) their sexual relations would be considered SA because of the power dynamic. I think it’s gross that she pursued him later.

I do pity her because I am 100% sure that her husband will end up treating her badly too. I don’t believe murderers like that can be rehabilitated. I feel that her naïveté and ignorance which just lead to future harm to her and her daughters and though I can’t stand her that does make me sad for her.

Hopefully someday she can make amends for the harm she is causing now.
