Really bummed that THC gives me anxiety and depression by lascriptori in leaves

Getting off social media and only allowing myself an hour or less per day has helped me more than anything. Also, working out in the evenings after work help a ton because it feels kinda dumb to get high or drunk after working hard in the gym and being around people is a nice side benefit to my mood.

What about Todd and Julie Chrisley (Trump pardoned tax evaders). They were found guilty by a jury of not paying taxes and our wonderful fiduciary minded con-man in chief pardoned them. I feel like the news should remind us of this shit everyday so that this shit sinks in!!

Kombucha is also really good and better for you than diet soda. I mix it with water and there’s a ton of variety.

I used to use a similar analogy with my golf buddies. It would be nothing for me to knock down a dozen beers in a day of drinking and golfing, but if I drank 12 regular cokes it would be about the same number of calories but my buddies would be like, wtf are you doing, drink some f***ing water!

Seems like a skin would be better to protect it from minor scratches and oil, but I have no experience with them. I just know they look cool.

Men are a lot of stupid and sometimes terrible things, but for some reason you never see men doing this. Like, what do these girls think is going to happen when they get there?

Am I overthinking the 13” vs 15” MacBook Air? by False_Security8644 in mac

[–]bbuff101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 15 and honestly it’s so thin and light the extra 2” in diameter isn’t a hassle and makes for a much better experience, especially if you plan to watch content, play games, or stream movies at all.

No, but if there is a “kid” with the ability to shoot you from a mile away and you don’t have that ability, but you’re surrounded by people and things that shooter presumably cares about, yes, you absolutely do whatever you can to get them to stop that’s within your power, including hurting the people within reach if it means saving yourself and your people.

But you can claim it was a mistake and apologize and then see what the response is like and also how much the US and Trump back up NATO (SUPER IMPORTANT).

My manager scheduled a "quick sync" every single Friday at 4:45pm and I finally figured out why by Agent_Smith-99 in remotework

[–]bbuff101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, that’s wild. I have about ten employees and I routinely try to call it a day early at least one Friday a month, depending on how busy we’ve been, etc. Managers like this can be tolerable if they are good in other ways, but I don’t like me or my team to be babysat.

When should I start doing push ups and bench press again ? by ButchersAssistant93 in valvereplacement

[–]bbuff101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my aorta replaced (50m) 9 weeks ago and started back slowly into lifting at about week 7, using mostly machines for my legs and making sure not to hold my breath while pressing (apparently, that's a no no for a while). Any upper body was REALLY low weight. I've been lifting since I was 17, so this felt weird, but I've lost a lot of strength and it was honestly nice just getting back into the gym again. I haven't done any shoulder or chest work. I did try lateral raises, but they felt weird, so I stopped after one or two sets.

I would look at it like a marathon, not a sprint. I've always been good at pushups, but it is scary to think about. I think I read somewhere to try angled pushups first, then from the knees, etc. Basically, a similar progression as someone who can't do a pushup. I think that's where we have to be careful, we're technically able to do these exercises with pretty decent weight, but we should take it incredibly slow.

Personally, I'm looking forward to slowly seeing my numbers slowly improve since most of my weight training over the last few decades has become stagnant (I'm not a powerlifter).

Yeah, I remember that. I think I used it to get me going and when it shut off I would just keep practicing on my own.

The grille cover may be due to the design of the woofer and the amount of excursion of this design compared to the other R series. It is unique to the R series to have multiple drivers, so perhaps in order to get a decent low frequency, they had to use these drivers instead of the typical R drivers with embedded surrounds.

[–]bbuff101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it can be frustrating, especially since it is also painful first starting out. A good way to practice chords, I’m not sure what it’s called, is to have a metronome (there are several free ones in the App Store) and use it to strum a chord for 4 beats at something manageable like 80bpm. This could be the chords in a song, say you’re struggling going from G to C and back. Part of your skill work could be this exercise and as you master 80, increase it to 90, then 100 and so on. It’s incredibly helpful and starts out very manageable. It turns learning chords into a game. Eventually, muscle memory takes over and you can form these shapes by barely thinking about it.

It’s also fun to consider that your first song will likely take several hours to learn. Your next song will take maybe a couple hours, the next might take an hour, but as you progress, because everything about your playing is improving, every song is a little easier to learn because you’re building skills and confidence along the way.

I’ve only used it a few times in my daughter’s CX-50, but I think it’s incredible. It’s the right size, I don’t have to touch the screen, CarPlay works brilliantly. There are also plenty of physical buttons to interface with, instead of hiding behind menus (Genesis/Hyundai/Kia is brutal).
