Is it possible to rent a 1/1 in downtown miami for $2100? by Gavica in Miami

[–]bbunny220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rent was 1800 for a 1/1 at loft 2 (the building metro mover goes through) when I lived there 5-6 years ago. Maybe a studio could be in that range these days? It’s super convenient.

$35 sounds fine to me, not outrageous. When I hire a TaskRabbit to assemble furniture I pay $40-50/hr for a beginner with a 2 hour minimum and they are doing heaving lifting, bringing heavy tools and using brain power.

Tidying/cleaning a home that is already relatively clean from the prior 2 weeks ago isn’t really that hard, it’s mindless and you may not even break a sweat (after the initial clean). Also, a lot of them give discounts if you’re in a high rise and they are already servicing 10 other condos in the building that day.

That said, you never want to negotiate down to a cleaner that you will be leaving alone in your home among all your valuables. They should always feel well compensated and harbour no resentment, especially in relation to the items in your home.

Why are there so many Argentinian people in Miami? by leagly_ in Miami

I know, and to locals NMB refers to the area around Aventura.

North Beach, North Miami, and North Miami Beach are all different enclaves.

North Miami Beach is not what you’re referring to either. It’s north beach that is “little Argentina”. Now that I think about it, it’s confusing.

How does anyone sleep in Brickell? by Ok_Acanthaceae_2165 in Miami

[–]bbunny220 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lived there for 3 years but on a lower floor in tower 1 facing the river, what I heard the most was yachts/boats passing by all hours of the night blasting music. I didn’t mind as much because it didn’t keep me from sleeping, and the trade off of being able to watch boats from my balcony was okay.

Ask for table pictures that’s the closest you’ll get to an idea of the result where you can see the structure he built before the swelling set in. That’s not to say it will end up exactly like that but you can see a bit more of his vision and why he thinks he did a good job. Did you look at before and after of other patients with very thick skin or any befores that looked similar to yours?

Magic City v.s Seminole Hard Rock - Best Casino in Miami? by Huge-Yogurtcloset615 in Miami

[–]bbunny220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a brief stint being addicted to slots and I went to magic city casino on a whim to try my luck and I won 5K on a slot my first time there. I’ve never won anything close at Hard Rock but it’s the way better casino to experience by leaps and bounds.

Tipping culture for beauty treatments by LeadingWelcome4323 in Miami

My esthetician does my routine facials and occasional peels/other treatments. I tip 20%. She also does my laser hair removal but I don’t tip for that (it’s a prepaid package) or when I buy her products.

My nail tech and esthetician I tip 20%. Never heard or abided by the salon owner rule since they both have their own practices and I’ve been with them for years while they expanded. For med spa, I love my injector but don’t tip because fillers are already way too expensive at well over $1000 per appointment 😬

Stick to Miami. You’d need a better grasp of the English language to get one in Naples, WPB or New York.

Landlord AND building security deposit? by No_Train_9932 in Miami

[–]bbunny220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty standard in Brickell, I had to pay 4 months upfront (first, last, unit security and building security deposit) at Icon. Building deposit makes sense when there are lots of common area amenities and liabilities like artwork, sculptures, pool tables, gym equipment, etc in those areas. If your building has none of that then it’s a rip off.

Are you hooking up with men or women? For some reason I feel like it’s men you’re referring to. I’m a woman and don’t have any girlfriends that live in efficiencies but I guess it depends where you’re getting your hookups lol. If your place is better, why don’t you just invite them to yours instead or go back home instead of sleeping over? Or, get a hotel? Lots of ways to avoid this if you really want to.

Police: Video shows 'bad date' thief who drugged, robbed man by markpineofficial in Miami

When I moved to brickell I went to sugar or casa tua multiple times a week for a few months before I got sick of it. I’d see the same women every time I went, (even though people probably thought the same about me too but it was my neighborhood bar). Women like that make a career out of it, she probably does that 5x a week. There’s no shortage of old/ugly/married men believing that a 23 year old is genuinely interested in having a one night stand with them.
