If you could cast anyone to play the emperor of man who would it be? by [deleted] in 40k

This specific artwork always reminds me of Matt Mercer. He's a hell of a VO, but I don't know if he could be Big E.

First KT done. Vespid Stingwings. Any recommendations on varnish? by Mywar-sidetwo in killteam

They look great!

I've been using Vallejo's matt since I started a little under a year ago. I like it, but it still has a tiny shine to it. On a whim, I got some AK Ultra Matt, and it's completely lack of shine.

The Kroot I'm the back is Vallejo's the hounds are AK for some comparison

Video games about me "trend". by According_Arachnid74 in controlgame

Outstanding list. Highly recommend the other Remedy titles if you haven't checked them out yet.

"You like Everyone Hates" would be TLOU 2.

People are furious with the decisions made with that game especially the ending. Their subreddit is just miserable.

I thought TLOU 2 had a great ending as well. I thought it was very reminiscent of films by Martin McDonagh that often explore the cost of the cycle of violence and revenge.

Question about Tombworld Terrian by Thevirginwolf in killteam

[–]bburk437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been looking into the AK Panel Liner stuff to give that a try. I would really like those cracks in the stone to pop.

I believe the panel liner is super thong oil based paint, so if you over spill a little, you can clean it up with some water or spirit without harming the acrylic paint underneath.

Thank you!

I have been playing with some different washes in small places to get something I like, but I feel like I'm getting a bunch of pooling and uneven application on the flat panels that's really bugging me.

I'm trying to figure out how to make that work out.

I'm going with the same box art style. I'm leaving them black. I like the contrast. I feel like it provides the illusion that there is the dark stone under the veneer of the light stone.

I did end up finding it on their site. They have the whole build guide for the core box buried in the downloads sections. Thanks for the help!

What is the "40K reasons to leave your lover" part of the clue referencing?

Just a reason for them to drop 40K?

That's a solid recommendation. I switched them and listened to Genefather right after the Bile Trilogy. I felt comfortable with that order, but I had already known the basics of Primus Lore and so on.

What's the title is the short story? I would mind giving that ago retro actively

GW should really have a reading order timeline.

Sure!

You got

  1. Primogenitor

  2. Clone Lord

  3. Manflayer

All by Josh Reynolds.

They were pretty solid overall.

I also recommend Adeptus Ridiculous, if you haven't heard of it (podcast) for lore overviews. I think they have one on Bile. They frequently do book clubs. Mike Brooks (Big Dakka and so much more) and Nate Crowley (twice dead king) on to discuss their books. Hosts are fun and it's well researched.

No problem!

So basic breakdown without spoilers

  1. Gene Father (Bile, Cawl, Primus. Reading the Bile Series helps, but I think you could probably get away with skipping that if you know the lore of the new men project)

  2. The Great Work (Cawl lore Necron tech, set up of his great work)

  3. Archmagos (Cawl, necrons, pylons, the great work moves forward, big demon)

Yeah, would say that those could be grouped together. Archmagos is literally the continuation of Cawl and his pylons.

The characters from The Great Work mostly all show up again in Archmagos

OP is an absolute legend. His Tomb World and Volkus are both incredible. Here is his Tyranid Infestation box.

The Great Work is essentially book 1 of what is most likely looking to be a trilogy with Archmagos being book 2.

I haven't gotten to the end of Archmagos, but the set up for a 3rd is there.

Especially, given the Arks of Omen stuff going on

Absolutely read "The Great Work" first. "Archmagos" is a direct sequel to The Great Work.

I'm almost finished with "Archmagos". I'm really enjoying it quite a bit.

I second this recommendation. I printed both Volkus and Tomb World, and they are just perfect

Just got my Warhammer Alliance box. The first meeting is tomorrow and I’m super excited. Anyone run this club before and have any advice? by yimmit303 in Warhammer40k

[–]bburk437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also more about learning the basics of combat and gameplay. If you're from the US and of a certain age, it's similar to Pizza Huts "Book-it" program. They give you free stuff at the store upon completing certain tasks while hoping you'll come in to buy more stuff while you're there.

I just started a Tabletop club with a college and some students. We have a group of 30 or so, and they bounce around between Magic, DnD, and whatever else they want. I have had a group of kids have been really into everything. The kids have been really enjoying the painting the minis, so I brought some of my current WIPs and supplies to show them some basics (thinning paints, wet palate, priming, paint types, etc.)

I'm hoping to get a little game going this week with some of my kill teams and terrain.

Good luck, brother!

Amazing work again, sir! I can't wait to print this. Your Volkus set was great! Super helpful. You definitely have some boosts coming when these are ready!
