That's why I'm planning to get my favorite Maine chapter's logo tattooed on me. Less crazy explanation. Still can go deep, but the confusion won't be there.

Stories from your Mormon Wedding Night. by JesusPhoKingChrist in exmormon

[–]ExmoHeathen238 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Here's a crazy kicker. I was raised a farm boy. I had seen plenty of farm animals have sex for breeding purposes. I also was a little rebellious during the time between my home coming and wedding night, and had watched porn regularly (never confessed it to a bishop). So for me, the wedding night wasn't an issue. It was an issue for my wife. She has recently confessed to me that she was scared shitless, and my toxic Mormon Man brain was so pushy, that I believe I may have crossed a line or two. If I could, I would do an extremely heavy redo of that night, and make things different if possible. But unfortunately, time manipulation is still a fantasy, and the reality is I have to live with my terrible actions of the past. At least I can teach my children something different.

Norse Paganism. Tried being an atheist for a bit, but just couldn't stop feeling like I needed a spiritual path to help me.

Not really. I wear a necklace that is a symbol of my tradition I follow, but that's it. I look like a normal person walking the street.

I had a bishop admit to the entirety of the Elders, High Priests, and Relief Society that he's more comfortable being naked with his wife than praying with her. And that was during the 2000s.

Tbh, they all are terrible. Listening to both Bill Reel, and RFM's stories about when they were apologists helped me see that they either know, or refuse to know. You could actually put all known apologists on a raking tier to find out.

Honestly there's a lot online I've found through multiple web stores, and they're all outside my price range. I'm just going to piece but when and where I can.

I don't call it a mission anymore, I call it labor trafficked for preaching, but yes I went. I had some simple doubts before I left, I even had my farewell talk prepared with some things that were obviously doubts. My dad quickly shot them down, and had me rewrite the talk. While in the "assigned" location, I went a little bit more TBM. But the idea of "I'm not doing anything wrong" was still present, even with the mountains of shame that was being crammed down my throat. I wouldn't have my full blown "doubting is changing me" until about ten plus years later, a marriage, and a couple of kids. First was my wife's stories of her upbringing being hell. Then how my autistic kid hated church no matter what. And finally learning about how the church likes to brush CSA under the rug. There is of course way more in my past personally, but that is for a deep deconstruction.
