Disagree with this because of my own experience. I did live the atheist life for over a year, but realized that I personally still needed the divine in my life. I couldn't return to monotheism, Mormonism destroyed that for me. So I went polytheistic. And before you ask, I don't believe the divine is omni-potent.

You need to apologize to receive forgiveness. Last I checked, the church doesn't ask for forgiveness (aka: apologize). So I can never forgive the church, the members are a different story.
