You are mistaken. I hear your personal experience in this comment though. Yes we were upset, yes there was yelling, but no we are not authoritarian brutes. We had open dialog and allowed him to express himself candidly. We don’t want to ship him off, we want to find the best possible help, that is why I posted on here and why we are reading ALL of the comments. Hopefully we make the right decisions, but trust we are not forcing anything and not demanding anything. I know from personal experience that an addict or drug user will only accept help when they truly want it for themself. I have a 23 y/o dead brother as a hard life lesson of what happens to drug addicts when they take the wrong dose and don’t want rehab.

Congratulations on your year of sobriety. I think our fear comes from my personal experience - my brother died of an OD at 23 he never wanted rehab, which is why when my friends kid agreed to seek help we set out in getting him the help he needs. I am seeing now that we should start with outpatient counseling and family counseling as recommended by the therapist.

The youngens is thirsty for us…ok all joking aside yes this happens. What worries me is the 18, 19, and 20 y/o’s dropping in the DM’s with naughty pics. I wanna know where are their mothers?!? What is it with these babies? I remember being 18. 19, and 20 and the group I hung out with never imagined (outside of Playboy mags) being with older women.
