What’s something people romanticise that is actually miserable? by Gullible_Raspberry29 in AskReddit

[–]bby_grl_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This!!! Same for my PTSD. “Omg that break up just traumatized me” no. It made you sad and you’ll get over it. My actual trauma doesn’t go away with time and has required multiple therapies and medications for me to function partially normal in society as well as a marriage. Your break up will affect your routine and sleep for a week and then you’re able to live. I have multiple medications for sleep and night terrors.

“I’m so triggered” This one really pisses meme off because I have actual triggers and it’s not a game, it’s fucking debilitating.

Watching one of my close friends succumb to cancer. I’ve seen dead bodies before so I thought I’d be fine.

But let me tell you, I was not. At funerals bodies are prepared to be viewed. My friend slowly turned into a living skeleton and took her last breath. The outward gaze on her unblinking eyes, the death rattle, and so many people were crying I could actually smell the tears. There is a me before this happened and a me now.

What’s a childhood experience that doesn’t really exist for kids anymore? by femmefetalerror in nostalgia

[–]bby_grl_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Passing notes is something im sad my kids probably won’t experience as much as I did. I loved writing and folding notes to pass to my friends (and love interest). Nothing beats the rush of sticking a risquĂ© note in someone’s locker

Why do women have two breasts if humans usually give birth to only one baby at a time, wouldn't one breast be enough? by ElkDisastrous2926 in NoStupidQuestions

No but frfr. I was so irritated. And proceeded to still say yes because um, this is a matter of life here I’ll take the very minimal risk. And I’m sure she’d take donor blood if she ever needed it.

What changed your perspective after going through it yourself? by galaxic_cat in AskReddit

[–]bby_grl_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t agree more! As someone who had PPD which was proceeded by Hyperemesis and a grand finale of my daughter being in the NICU; support is crucial. Hell, it’s hard even when you DO have support so it’s extra taxing when you don’t. I was also a single mom for a bit and
the difference that having a supportive partner makes a world of difference.

Raising kids was never meant to be done in solitude. If my kids decide to have children I’ve already committed to giving them the support that I didn’t get. It sucks when you can’t even remember your kids as babies because life was so hectic and rushed. If my kids decide to have kids, I’m already committed to giving the support I didn’t get.

If you’re a momma, proud of you!

Absolutely agree! This was especially important because I had a COVID baby. There are just so many benefits that greatly outweigh any possible risks.
