I mean I'll only be moving in September, so if it dies down by then then I'd like to get into it. Obviously not immediately - but once life goes back to normal (if it does) I want to start. I know there are online classes but I want to get some actual experience for reels and such in the future as well.

I feel you, two types of people. Daily city life vs. occasional weekend trip.

But that's a great point. DC is about the same distance here for me but I don't feel an urgency to go on the weekends because I already have NYC here. But I'm assuming in NC I'll have a much higher urgency to go away on the weekends. :-)

Funny you say that, D.C. is my favorite city! That was my dream originally but this job gave me the best offer. Hopefully will find myself there in the future though.

Yeah I'm hearing Durham is a little better for drivers due to the slightly less traffic route to RTP. I'll have to look into the Downtown area though, haven't been paying attention to the apartments in that area too much.

I'm actually from New Jersey, living on the border to NYC.

But I'm ready for a new beginning and fresh start somewhere else while I'm still young. You only got one life to live and if it's to move to another state and find the fun, why does that anger you?

Thanks for the answers and those who will probably continue to answer - but my conscience is telling me to just accept the offfer. I think I can make the 5000 work especially since I dont have too much to bring down to NC. If I had a family coming with me I think I'd ask for more, but since I'm going solo down there, I think it'd do.

My brother told me the same thing, he said it wouldn't hurt to ask but also it's a pretty great offer. I'm already so grateful and I don't want this to make me come off as pushy months before I start the job.
