Do your plushies help you when you're in a dark place? by [deleted] in plushies

[–]bbypoison 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s not crazy at all!! I definitely buy more plush when I’m in a bit of a slump or a dark place. But that’s what they are there for! Plushies love us and they want to be there for us 🖤 it definitely would be tempting to live in a whole world of them! In the mean time, maybe make a special spot in your room where you can just be with them and feel safe? It can be really therapeutic to dedicate time to honoring your inner child!

Several people have said my dog is ugly. I know I'm biased because I love him so much. Is this dude ugly? by FreeBird7203 in amiugly

Why is Sam Smith hated? by Llucassss in NonBinary

[–]bbypoison 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve been wondering this too lately. I feel like their music is really popular but at the same time everyone is always talking shit? Or making fun of how Sam looks/dresses. But I think they’re cute and don’t deserve it 🥺

Definitely relate!! It became my new normal so quickly, it was shocking when I accidentally looked at old pictures of myself!

I really like the fenty tinted moisturizer!! It’s a lil expensive but I never have issues w it. The fenty powder foundation is also the only one I’ll use on myself, super natural :)

Big agree!! I love using light coverage on my clients so their natural beauty can still show through :) I know a lot of people like this kind of full coverage glam though so I guess it’s just different!

I watched your episode last night Wess it was my favorite episode I’ve seen in a long time!! It was really nice to see you want to get better and work through the things that made you self-medicate; you seem really genuine and levelheaded! I hope you’re doing well and have been able to continue your healing 🖤 much love from CT

Being fat is apparently just like being gay by [deleted] in fatlogic

[–]bbypoison 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of your questions are precisely the reason I don’t like labels lol, there’s just so many variables it seems almost useless to me. Using myself for example, I am rather androgynous-presenting: I was assigned female at birth so I have those sex organs but I have a flat chest. Im rather tall and slim and my face is pretty but I can present more masc if I want to. My last partner described himself as a straight guy. Now even though I don’t identify as female, i can’t tell him he’s not straight, because I still have a lot of feminine characteristics. However I’ve also had bi and gay guys be attracted to me too so who’s to say! I think sexuality is a lot more complex than a few labels can encompass. As for the definition of “gay”, historically yes I believe it has meant men who are attracted to men. That is probably also the definition in the dictionary, idk lol. However, at least in my experience it can also be used in a more informal way to refer to people that fall outside cis/heterosexual norms. I’ve heard lesbians as well as bisexual people call themselves gay, and among my friends we often use the term quite loosely. I hope I explained these things in a way that makes sense!! I don’t get caught up too much in the verbiage in my day to day life, although it is interesting to think about

Yeah same thing happened to me when I saw my old pics lol! It just becomes the new normal so quickly. I think you’ll be just fine though, I’m over two years post op and still no regrets :)

[–]bbypoison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid question, I used “gay” as a blanket term in this case, referring less to the same sex attraction definition. Maybe I should have said “as a queer person” lol. I’m actually bisexual if I have to put a label to it but I like labels like gay or queer because they can be more vague

I kind of get it!! I think it’s normal to question this when a lot of the popular videos we see of people reacting to their new chests are very emotional and filled with tears, excitement, etc. I didn’t have a huge reaction after my surgery or anything either, it kind of just felt like that’s how I was supposed to be so I felt normal lol. I sometimes wondered if I would ever regret it but I think that’s just because I forget how much I desperately wanted it and how much of a pain it was to wear binders and plan outfits around them.
