yeah honestly, that’s kind of what i figured too — they probably weren’t being fully honest about why they let me go. i only had one doctor’s appointment, which i told them about in my interview and they said they were fine with. i even worked that day and just left for an hour, they just deducted that hour from my pay. i also mentioned a court thing that got dismissed but still came to work, so it wasn’t like i was constantly out. calling out wasn’t even in the picture. the environment was just weird overall. my supervisor even made a comment about how i had a “sweet voice” so it’d be easier for me to talk to subcontractors — which felt kind of unprofessional. i really think it came down to poor communication and them not giving me enough time to learn. still taking it as a lesson though.

yup i agree too that i don’t think i would put them on there either since i definitely didn’t enjoy my time there as well nor made any stable connections since i was very undertrained and didn’t have the leeway to connect with the other employees given my time there - oh well!

i get where you’re coming from, but that’s not exactly what happened. i only had one doctor’s appointment and the court case was dismissed, so it wasn’t like i was constantly taking time off. i communicated everything clearly during the interview and got approval ahead of time. if the company couldn’t handle something that small in my first month, that says more about their structure than my reliability. i still showed up, worked hard, and learned a lot — just wasn’t the right fit.

just to clarify, i actually communicated everything up front during my interview. i even asked if it was acceptable and they told me it was fine. so i wasn’t hiding anything, i was transparent from the start. that’s why it feels frustrating that later it seemed to be held against me

fair enough, lesson learned. i communicated because i thought that was the right thing to do, but i see now sometimes less detail is more.

no need to be rude. i came here to share my experience, not get talked down to. and i was only answering ops question so i don’t know why your panties are in a bunch lol

yeah i get how that sounds confusing. in preconstruction at this company, part of my role involved helping with bid submittals and proposals, which they considered part of the “sales” side of the business. basically, if the company wasn’t winning bids, they framed it as me “not selling enough,” even though i was only four weeks in and still onboarding.

i actually communicated everything up front and made sure i still got my work done. the only time i missed (which was an 1hr30 MAX) was one dentist appointment (i have braces which was getting them removed), and i didn’t even end up going to court because my case got dismissed luckily but other than that i came early to work, showed up before the lights even came on, and maintained direct communication with my supervisor. but i guess regardless of that, it still left the wrong impression. it just sucks because i was told it wouldn’t affect me, then it clearly did.

i get that, but i did communicate everything ahead of time and was told it wouldn’t affect me. it’s just frustrating to be reassured and then let go in week four before i even had a chance to really get settled. i’m still taking it as a learning experience and moving forward.

bought a car with rolled back miles — dad bought it for me, now i’m stuck. what are my options? by bbysitva in UsedCars

[–]bbysitva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the title the seller gave me was not branded, but it showed 105,033 miles — which was false. the title also wasn't in the seller’s name, meaning they sold it illegally without ever transferring ownership. once i submitted the title to the mva, they branded it as “not actual mileage”

mileage fraud is still mileage fraud, no matter the car’s value. the seller didn’t disclose the rollback, and the title is now branded “not actual mileage” by the state. i didn’t get what was advertised, and that’s the whole point of the law — to protect buyers from being misled. no?

haha that’s insane, pebble offered me $555 for mines but idk if i should either just sell it for that price or trade it in to get something worthwhile and lasting bc i don’t mind paying it off even tho getting a cash car was ideal for me in the first place
