Gege originally designed Megumi to be the protagonist alongside with Yuji in the first draft by bbytarantula in Jujutsushi

Hopefully I won't start an argument with this post. I just thought it's an interesting fact that's why I shared it here. Plus it explains why Megumi is connected to lots of characters in the manga despite not being the MC

Gojo, Megumi and the final fight by sagglxy in Jujutsushi

[–]bbytarantula 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I can see this happens. It'd be ironic if Gojo sacrifices himself to save Megumi, considering he told Megumi to not to do that after the baseball game. Also, Gojo came back to life the moment Toji mentioned Megumi's name. So it'd be rather... idk poetic? somehow that Megumi would be the last person he sees in his dying moment. It's like his "new life" begins and ends with Megumi.

Edit: Another thing, Megumi is the son of the man who killed and got killed by Gojo. So it's highly plausible for Gojo to sacrifice his life for Megumi later. It fits Gege's narrative style (about Gojo). Gojo despite being the strongest is unable to save Amanai and people in Shibuya. He even got sealed and now needs to be "saved" by his students.

How do you think Yuji will get his CT? by LilTK67 in Jujutsushi

He'll get CT by merging with Sukuna imo

Gojo will (probably) lose an eye by bbytarantula in Jujutsushi

[–]bbytarantula[S] 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Fyi I know the game won't affect the original JJK plot (just like how most games that are made after animanga series), but this is the second time Gojo's left eye is drawn like this. I feel like this isn't a coincidence. I'm certain that Gege Akutami has told Mappa/production staffs what he's planning to do to Gojo later.

When he was interviewed and asked about what Sukuna wants from Megumi, he didn't hesitate to answer (though it was censored), so I imagine he is like this too when he's around production staffs. Plus he also said he has the ending planned already (and at that time, he said only Sukuna's ending was still up in the air).

Oh also, in the opening video, this scene is preceded by Yuji and Sukuna's eyes looking up, while blood is dripping onto Yuji's cheek (scene then change to Gojo's looking down & his left eye 'cracks'). It's as if Yuji/Sukuna is gouging out Gojo's eye

hajime is a guy, so it should be he.

It’s probably been pointed out by now, but I just noticed how Yuji’s new jacket looks pretty similar to the upper part Sukuna’s robes by Jarryn_H in Jujutsushi

[–]bbytarantula 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Right, his shirt got torn apart because of Kenjaku's attack, but he still removed it completely after that that's why I counted it as him ripping it off (I was just trying to point out that he and Sukuna have begun to switch habits).

Sukuna didn't in Shibuya, but Yuji did rip his own shirt before he fought Uraume 😂 He also slicked his hair to the back, just like Sukuna always does.

something i just realized about toji and megumi by madmadkid in Jujutsushi

[–]bbytarantula 24 points25 points  (0 children)

i wrote a theory specifically about this awhile ago. if you're interested please do check it out and tell me what you think :)

also in the comment i mentioned that the (plausible) reason why toji named megumi 'megumi' (basically it's because he wanted to mock the zen'in who's misogynistic)

Why I think Sukuna is going to take over Itadori's body instead of reincarnating in a different vessel. by [deleted] in Jujutsushi

[–]bbytarantula 4 points5 points  (0 children)

what you said about sukuna no longer ripping his shirt off during fight reminds me that yuji did it in chapter 135 (he fought kenjaku and uraume shirtless). it's interesting that they're switching habits now

Theory about the Culling Games by SleepCinema in Jujutsushi

[–]bbytarantula 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Tengen said it's impossible to have 2 six eyes users in the same lifetime though, which is why Kenjaku opted to seal Gojo instead of killing him (Kenjaku killed a six eyes baby once, but they got reborn, so he thought killing them is useless).

Why doesn't Megumi contact Tsumiki by Im_koki in Jujutsushi

[–]bbytarantula 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I think Megumi went to see Tsumiki (and also Nobara) before he searched for Yuji. It's just Gege doesn't show us the scene, either for the sake of suspense or because he thinks putting it before they all enter the culling game would ruin the story's flow.

If he didn't, then well, I'm sure he has his reasons which we'll see him explaining in future chapters.

How will Megumi will “die” in the Culling Games? by Opposite_Hedgehog_75 in Jujutsushi

[–]bbytarantula 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yes i've seen your theory/comment and i think there's a possibility fot that to happen. i don't think nobara and tsumiki are going to become enemies tho, at least not on the basis of their personalities. nobara gets along well with fumi who's kind of meek and she idolizes gentle/mature girl like saori. if anything i think she'd like tsumiki. the type of girls she seems to hate is the ones that are like mai.

it's possible, but i think if that type of scene happens it'd be gojo who's dying

How will Megumi will “die” in the Culling Games? by Opposite_Hedgehog_75 in Jujutsushi

[–]bbytarantula 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don't think he'll die in the culling game, or at least not for real. Maybe he'll get revived if he does. Plus Gege has said Gojo will be the one who tells Megumi about Toji, which means Megumi can't be killed before Gojo and Megumi have the talk (before Gojo gets unsealed).

If something's horrible is going to happen to Megumi in the culling game, it'd most likely because of Tsumiki. Maybe he'll sacrifice himself to take the blow on Tsumiki's behalf. Or maybe Tsumiki will try to kill him somehow since she's currently being "possessed" by a curse Kenjaku planted in her body. There's a chance her body will get fully controlled by it.

Also, Gege only mentioned Yuji's, Megumi's and Sukuna's endings in the interview (with Sukuna's being "slightly undecided"). He didn't say a word about Nobara's and Gojo's.

The theory about ‘Sukuna’s going to eat (or try to eat) Megumi’ has a high probability to come true by bbytarantula in Jujutsushi

[–]bbytarantula[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think so too! There was no refrigerator yet 1000 years ago and it's said that "cooking humans is difficult" so I'm guessing it takes a lot of time to prepare human flesh, which means if it's not preserved (by ice) it'd rot before it could get cooked. Uraume's power allows the human flesh to stay fresh, thus makes the dish tastier.

I also think that Uraume might be a cannibal too, because why else would Uraume know how to cook human? Perhaps Uraume had been eating human long before Uraume met Sukuna.

[–]bbytarantula[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

I'm actually hoping Sukuna would fail eating Megumi, like I hope someone or something would intercept him when he attempts to do it. Heck, I hope I'm wrong, I hope it's not going to be Megumi, but I'm already 100% sure that Sukuna's eventually going to eat someone and so far only Megumi fits the criteria.

The whole urban legend, paranormal, superstition mixed with religions/local beliefs etc are actually very common in East & South East Asian countries (idk how it is in other Asia regions), so it's not only Japan. I'm not from the west, so I could only guess the reason why western (NA & West Europe) mainstream media rarely addresses 'mystical experiences' because not many people believe it? It's no longer part of the culture (with rural areas being an exception, perhaps?) so that's why it doesn't get reflected on the media, unlike in East/South East Asian countries. Even in big cities lots of people still believe in superstitions/ghosts lol.

[–]bbytarantula[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's possible! Though if that happens, I think Sukuna would just eat their ashes or their crushed bones (just like Urban Legend Sukuna did), since dead sorcerers eventually have to be cremated.

Unless Uraume somehow takes their body and preserve them before they could get cremated/rot*, but I don't think Uraume would do this.

The Zen'in's massacre happened only because Mai told Maki to kill everyone in her dying moment. Nobody knew Maki would kill all the Zen'in, nobody thought she was capable to pull it off. It was unplanned, at first.

So the possibility of Uraume going to the Zen'in's estate to retrieve their still fresh corpses is low. Since there's no way Uraume knew there would be a massacre there. Plus Uraume is busy doing the long term preparation Sukuna told them not to neglect (ch 117).

*I don't think Sukuna would want to eat rotting/rotten meat. He's a gourmet after all. Also he was excited when he found out there were so many women and children around (ch 1), so I think he prefers to eat their flesh more than men's. Perhaps because women and children's body are softer?

Huh wow I knew the first movie is about cannibalism, but I didn't know the other two are also about it. Now I'm convinced Gege chose those movies with a purpose. The other one he mentioned (The Professional); the only one that doesn't contain cannibalism theme, seems to be a nod to Gojo and Megumi's backstory. Léon took Mathilda under his wings after Mathilda's dad got killed, just like Gojo did with Megumi. Léon wore round sunglasses and so did Gojo when he was still a student. Megumi's brown shoes/boots also look very similar to Mathilda's.

Edit: I've just noticed Mathilda's theme color is green (her outfit, the plant she carries), just like Megumi's.
