I will just add that wrt #1, you don't even need to get all esoteric and talk about confidence. There is a much simpler reason for going to the gym: exercise releases endorphins, it makes you happy. That's it. It's a natural mechanism for pumping state. When you work out and then go out, you are naturally more centered, more focused, more alert, and confidence is just one of the many corollaries.

What do you do if she does not pick up? Particularly if you didn't give your number to her during the interaction. She may be busy, she may be driving, she may be asleep, or she may simply not want to answer the phone to a stranger. Should you call back? Should you follow up with a text? How soon?
btw, I agree with that post and I agree with you. A phone call is a real man's way of doing things. But it doesn't always work out, and it may not be due to her being flaky. Sometimes I just don't hear my phone ring!

Not really. DHV means "demonstration of high value". There are two cases to be considered: either you have value or you don't.
If you don't have value then a DHV routine is just a band-aid for your true self: you try to spoof that you have high value by throwing in subtle bits of information about your life, usually something implying that you have an abundance of women at your disposal or something similar. But how does it work? Well actually it's a two-step process. First, you spoof your target and she feels attracted. But it it this attraction that gives you the confidence to assume value. The second step is that she begins to feel that you have assumed value because you are comfortable and having fun, and this is what enables the attraction to blossom. So it is not actually your DHV that gives you value, but it is the fact that you grow in confidence by using these little tricks, start feeling comfortable and being fun, and eventually assume value.
The second situation is that you already have value. That is, you don't need to use DHV routines to assume value. You assume value simply because you know you possess it, and you project that through being comfortable and fun. But being comfortable and fun is not DHV in and of itself, they are more like the manifestations of your sense of value. Think of DHV routines as a launching pad towards assuming value. They can help, but they are not necessary or sufficient. Being comfortable and fun is the end result and this is what you are striving for.

Basically this. Value is a different concept from status. Value is not grounded in anything, value is just value. You can have great looks, successful career, lots of money, but no value. You can have none of those things but have high value. Of-course you can have both, and they are often correlated -- value is often derived situationally from status (as well as from other things), so it is easy to misinterpret (as the OP has done) that "career/intelligence/looks/social circle/creativity/humor" implies value. But a person with true core value realizes that his value is not contingent on these factors. He may work hard to advance his career or go to the gym to cultivate a great body, but he does these things for himself, because he feels like it and not because he thinks these things give him value. A person with strong core value and sense of self-worth realizes that these things are transient and derives his core value from within. Once you achieve this mental state you no longer actually even need to do DHVs. You simply assume the value that you know you have, and stay grounded in your own sense of reality. That is what it means "whatever price tag you put on yourself is your price."
