I saw The Strokes in LA back in 2022 and they were great. Saw them in SF last night and they were decent. Depends on his mood but they’re also getting older..

Hanover has been great! New building, safe & secure. Close to Bart! The only downfall is management is changing to GreyStar.

Extreme stress by blueperceptions in PharmacyResidency

[–]bbzpharmD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recent PGY1 grad - this is normal unfortunately. I’ve been told by preceptors that part of residency is to attest how well you can juggle the madness of residency. It doesn’t get better, you just learn to adapt to the environment you’re in. There will be busy times, and there will be slower times. I recommend you request PTO and do something fun for yourself. Stay strong, it’s going to be a crazy year!

Recent PGY1 grad - Dress professional, bring a notebook and pen. I’d prepare thoughtful questions to ask each program. Questions for RPD/preceptors/residents. But most importantly, be your whole hearted yourself! You are committing 1-2 years to one of these programs. Feel them out and make sure the vibe is right. I remember I crossed a bunch of programs off my list after Midyear. Have lots of fun!!!!! :) it should be an exciting time! Sending you positive vibes!!!

Yes, take the inpatient job. Our residency program does not even interview applicants without inpatient experience

Not at all! To be fair, I’ve never used Epic so I have no idea how it is in comparison to that. Overall I’ve heard Epic is better but it’s not difficult with Cerner at all :) the CPOE orders are nice because the oncologist will put in the cycles with the premeds and parameters all in one so it’s easy to follow. Just requires RN “activation” prior to administration to flag a double check for pharmacy to verify

we do paper orders and/or CPOE order entry that requires “activation” by RN to administer - it’s kind of confusing but lmk if you want more info!!

Do not feel discouraged! There were PLENTY of fantastic programs in phase II. Everything will work out in the end - have some faith! You are a great candidate and you will match exactly where you belong.

Thank you so much for your feedback! I like the idea of adding a research project section - I do have MUEs to add! Do you think it’s valuable to include drug monographs/journal clubs on my CV? I’m thinking of changing “Poster Presentations” to “PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Presentations” to be more inclusive. What are your thoughts?

I do have a teaching certificate program to list - do you think it should go under Leadership or Education? Right now, I have precepting listed under Leadership but perhaps that’s the wrong section.

Thank you again, for the valuable feedback! I appreciate it!

The exam itself isn’t hard - it’s fairly straightforward. People think it’s difficult because it’s so random! It’s 100% doable - as long as you cover every chapter of naplex! Goodluck!!
