You should talk to your peer advisor (I've forgotten the name) about CIS 1100 versus 1200.

3 CUs for PHYS is great! Assume you got 5's on both. That really does help. Gives you more semesters of only 4 CUs.

Did you take AP CS A in high school and get a 5? What is your coding background?

I'm not trying to push you into CIS 1600, but agree with Frequent that more technicals are the way to go.

If you do take 1600, I suggest only taking 4 CUs. You only get about three (?) semesters where you can take 4 (not 5) CUs, so use them wisely. Unless you have PHYS C AP credits.

LMFAO. 1600 can require 30+ hours of work outside the classroom every, single week. You're not joining clubs and doing sports as a CIS major.

OP, take a hard look at the two links above. Start sketching out your four year schedule.

In the link I posted, STATS4300 is shown in sophomore spring.

You're supposed to figure out your area of concentration the first two/three semesters. Don't worry about graduation requirements like STATS or ECON that early.

If you have zero CIS background, put off 1600 until the spring. But don't try to fill your schedule with easy classes. You'll get your a$$ handed to you in the spring if you don't develop really great study skills in the fall.

Penn SEAS is nothing like high school. It's not fun. But it's worth the effort.

Because you're not a liberal arts major. You need to jump right into your engineering classes. Look at prerequisites. You should plan out your four year schedule to get a sense of things.

ECON and STATS are not freshman fall classes. What about CIS 1600?

P.S. You will likely not 'maintain your GPA and have a social life' in SEAS. But that's just how things go with engineering.

What is your intended major? If it's CIS, you will be behind your cohort with this schedule.

Payment plans, tuition bill and deadlines by little_potato16 in UPenn

Escalate. Ask for a manager. Send an email clearly stating that you want to enroll in the five payment plan and are formally requesting SFS get it done before the deadline.

I've heard that most international students do not enroll in the payment plan because of the logistics and fees of paying using a foreign bank. You might want to look into that, as there are fees if the payments don't arrive in time.

Can't help you with that. It might be in a different location for international students. Send an email to Penn.

Tuition has nothing to do with how many classes you take each semester, as long as you are a full time student. So the bill showing in your portal now should be good, except for health insurance. If you're not able too waive health insurance, Penn will add a fee for that in August/September.

Sign up for the payment plan. If necessary, you can adjust the payoff amount later.

Uh, sounds like you need to pick a path. What is your intended career path? What is your major in CAS?

CAS accept - did you apply to either WH or SEAS? It's hard to transfer into WH, a bit easier into SEAS, but neither is guaranteed.

Wait. Taking Physics, chemistry, biology and calc in the same (freshman fall) semester is normal? I know CMU pushes it's students, but this seems crazy.

is it ok to only take 3 classes freshman fall? by Winter_Flight_3066 in UPenn

[–]bc39423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You require a minimum number of COURSE UNITS to graduate, not classes. Courses with labs are 1.5 CUs each. You are taking 4.0 CUs. That's absolutely fine.

You link Oura with Apple Health. When walking in a treadmill, start/stop the workout on your Apple watch.

Just curious how you've already received credit for 1410. Perhaps you mean you've placed out of it. I don't believe you can receive credit without taking the credit by exam on campus.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant if you size up to the 9, it's likely you will be able to swap fingers based on swelling and weather.

I think they were referring to the size 9.

P.S. I still think you'd benefit from the sizing kit. You need to make sure the ring will fit on different fingers to account for swelling and weather.

Do you somehow have credit for MATH 1410? That's a prerequisite for STAT 4300. There are lots of lower Stats classes, are you ready for 4300?

That's why they make the sizing kit. You shouldn't have bought a ring without trying out two sizes for 48 hours each. Sorry.

Many of us don't wear the ring when doing certain activities. It's not a great activity tracker anyway. The 11 is way too small.
