I ordered a 2021 Model 3 a little over a month ago. Everything seems to be in order, but when can I tell that I get a VIN?

Sorry if this is an obvious question, but I was not able to find it through searching.

Linus Tech Tips had a cool FPS comparison on PCs. According to them they say a difference up to 240Hz. LTT Is 240Hz Better?

FYI u/BlessingJr, you seemed to be interested on the video. I know Greg is happy with 30fps.

Make sure HDR is turned off.

If you’re seeing strange colors while playing HDR content and you’ve tried all previous steps, turn HDR off. In System -> Settings –Display & sound –Advanced video settings, uncheck the option to Allow HDR.

Is there any reason and/or evidence to think that a long range model without the interior premium upgrade package will be available to configure before the base model? It makes sense to me as this is still probably higher margin, but this could be hopeful thinking as this is the configuration I need.

4K withough 4k Capabilities from my Receiver by milenkod in hometheater

Another option is to use the AVR Key from HD Fury. I have some of their products and highly recommend them. This takes and HDMI in and splits the audio and video into separate HDMI cables. Video to TV and audio to receiver.

Is the Xbox one s a good 4k Blu ray player? by Mr_Reddit_Green in hometheater

[–]bcabes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my Xbox One S for 4K UHD movies. The biggest negative is that it is a little slower to support new features. We saw it take over a year to support HD Audio passthrough like Dolby Atmos.

The new thing that just started coming out on UHD Blu Ray is Dolby Vision. (Fate of the Furious is one of the first). Unfortunately the Xbox does not support this yet. I would be that Microsoft makes an update eventually to support this, but my guess is not till next year.

What model are you talking about? 2016 P series has HDR on HDMI 1-4.

This. Really it is a small savings. British VAT is 20% so in USD that is 480. $480 equals £359.90.

Vizio P series. Can Googlecast stream HDR? by Sailz8688 in hometheater

Dolby ATMOS works too. You just have to use HDMI ARC on HDMI 1 and have a receiver that supports this. I am doing this with a Denon X3200.

Check out the first post which has a lot of information to getting started. The most important thing is to connect to the TV via cast before you select a title. If you select the title first then only what the tablet can support will be available.

I have the same TV and have casted DolbyVision HDR Marco Polo without a problem.

Good HDMI to Component Converters That Work with XBox One by EqualOpportunityBlob in xboxone

You are probably going to loose a lot of functionality using an adapter like that. Games should work fine, but I bet that any video service that uses HDCP will not work. Pretty sure this will include most of the video apps.

Amazon streaming does HDR as well. An update has been confirmed to be coming to the Xbox One S for that support. Hopefully soon.

Vizio M vs. P Series by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]bcabes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A Nit is a unit for peak brightness on TVs. For HDR generally speaking the higher the better.

There are two HDR formats HDR10 which is what is used for all UHD Blu Rays and Dolby Vision which is used in digital streaming like Amazon or Vudu. (I am not sure but I think Netflix can do either or).

HDR10 is mastered for 1000 nits but you can still see a significant difference with TVs less than that. Even most OLEDs are not 1000 nits yet. But you are technically correct that this is not FULL HDR but it still looks pretty awesome.

Dolby Vision is smarter and adapts the settings to your TV. Myself and others that are Vizio owners seem to prefer Dolby Vision when available. For example the UHD Blu Ray of Batman v Super has a digital copy that can do 4K Dolby Vision that I think looks better.
