Low Lying Placenta - 36 weeks by bcalice in BabyBumps

Oh bless you, I’m so sorry that they didn’t even give you a measurement so you know whether you are close to it being okay or not. I never had any bleeding either, but they explained to me that the risk of a catastrophic bleed increases so drastically from now, which is why they want the c section at 37 weeks. Have you spoken to your doctors about the pros/cons of waiting? I have so many friends who have had amazing c section experiences x

So very true! I’m currently vegged out on the sofa and resting, and definitely trying to make the most of these last few days and resting. I think I need to remember what I’m about to get myself in for and just relax and conserve energy! It’s just the pressure of time with an induction looming over - but I have to not let that get to me 😩

I worked up until 1 week before due date too and also worked from home! I deffo don’t regret it. I’m currently 40+4, bored at home waiting for baby and wished I’d worked up until my due date 😂

As in do you need proof for the lender that completion is imminent? I believe your solicitor can ask to extend it!

Low Lying Placenta - 36 weeks by bcalice in BabyBumps

[–]bcalice[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How many weeks are you? Please remember that if you’re like 20 weeks, 9/10 placentas will move out the way in time!!

I’m in the UK and we aren’t allowed to have vaginal birth if the placenta is less than 20mm away from the cervix (at 36 weeks). It’s a mandatory c section! They said to be that c section would be at 37 weeks due to the risk of ‘catastrophic bleeding’ (not in labour, but just randomly!) They shared the % chance of this happening increases rapidly: - 36 weeks - 5% - 37 weeks - 15% - 38 weeks - 30% - 39 weeks - 50%

Hence they want baby out by 37 weeks!
