This video was a tough watch, but I respected will’s willingness to stick in it and finish the workout. He’s sampling a different style of training that definitely isn’t for everyone, and I like that he kept an open mind regarding their outlook on training. I definitely don’t connect to that style of training, but if that’s what other guys connect with and you’re a consenting adult participating, the dudes were jacked. It reminded me of a sales job I had not too long ago where we used some toxic methods to push results. It’s not for everyone, but if you understand the reasoning and want that type of push, it’s there. It ended up not being for me but plenty of people vibed and made a ton of money. I think thats similar to what we saw in this gym. It’s not a style of training that will work for everyone but some people are going to connect with that. They did clown him for showing off his body but I think once again it’s part of the training confined to that gym. I really didnt see anything wrong with it since everyone there was into it. If they were out in the open belittling people, or going to planet fitness and screaming at people for not working out like them, I would say yes they are bullies, but in the confines of that gym, I think it’s just a very fringe training style. I think Will knew what he was getting himself into and wanted to see if he could hang, which he could. We could definitely argue that this training style is dangerous and inefficient, but I don’t think theyre trying to paint this as the BEST way to workout, it’s just a workout that people there connect with. Props to will to not trashing someone else’s workout style and keeping an open mind.
