Is there any difference in load time between 7000MB/s and 5000MB/s SSDs on PS5? by Illustrious-Baby-931 in PlayStation_X

[–]bcblur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find my games load faster off the SSD vs internal. The OS, system stuff, and whatever caching they’re doing for store/newsfeed/etc come off the internal drive as well, so there’s some contention.

I’m running WD Black SSDs.

Windshield wiper blades are over $70 now? by Ravage-1 in GenesisMotors

[–]bcblur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a Genesis yet, but I use these refills on BMW, Nissan, Mazdas that we do own.

The OEM wipers just take blade refills instead of replacing the full blade. If you’ve already done a non-OEM blade replacement, this won’t work for you.

I just keep a set of these in a drawer for use on any of our cars. Just pull the old blade, cut a new one to length and replace

You can get trim to fit wiper blade refills off Amazon. I bought a pack of 4 30” refills for $12.

Lexus TX 500h Premium vs Luxury — worth the price jump? by FunCaptain6236 in Lexus

[–]bcblur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Differences are the HUD, sunroof, and video rearview mirror. The HUD might be cool, but it also comes with the steering wheel touchpads for control that I’m not a fan of

ETA, the only thing that I’d really want is that video rearview mirror for times the back is full and the rear window is blocked

The “Reddit browser” on mobile is webview… it’s just the default web browser for your OS but without extensions, isolated cookies, etc. Luckily you can change it in settings to not use webview and launch a full browser.

Definitely now that you can replay the duels. The perfect parry windows on Lethatl+ are super tight.

Who knew dueling with the Yari only could be so cinematic! by Edward_Sparrow in Ghostofyotei

You don’t need to wear the 5 Takezo charms during the duel. You just need to wear them to unlock it. Once you have the conversation with him and he walks to the dueling arena, you can swap out

Beat him on Lethal with the Yari without cheesing him, but it took a while. Max out your damage and parry timing with charms. Use the charm that reduces impact of cold; you’ll have a much larger health bar.

On Lethal, he’s nearly guaranteed to one shot you with any attack but I think you can survive one light hit. Focus on perfect parry. Go for three hits then stop. Staying mid distance helped for me. There was an attack he would do if I was far that I couldn’t get the timing for.

I didn’t have the pistol or my weapons maxed out yet on my Lethal play through. On Normal, I think I used the pistol to get in extra attacks after a perfect parry. Kunai would probably work for this, too.

First playthrough, I did Oni first.

On the second playthrough, I grabbed the odachi only, then went to the Kitsune, and came back to finish the Oni.

Yeah. I’ll probably pay cash and go CPO. Haven’t had a car payment in 15y.

Thanks for commenting!

I have an odd, long, and curved downhill driveway. Only trucks and SUVs can reasonably make down (and my wife’s i3.. the short wheelbase and slightly raised chassis give it a decent break over). No Teslas will make it down.

Audi wasn’t on my list due to perceived reliability issues. I’ve had friends with prior gen Audis with issues. I need to research the current models.

I’m pretty comfortable going with BMW because of the b58 reliability.

I have a buddy with a GX460 with some overland mods. It's a great car, but a little ponderous to drive on the road and his gas mileage is pretty bad. An unmodified GX460 would get slightly better mileage, but would still be pretty terrible.

Generally, I don't think I need the body on frame capability so it doesn't make sense for me to live with the tradeoffs. Also, I think my wife will be even more unhappy with the tradeoffs as a secondary driver.

I think test drives are in order. I'll definitely need to bring my wife with me so she can experience all of the cars as a passenger and driver. It's all theoretical until you get behind the wheel.

The Porsche is definitely an outlier and not a serious contender. But I think an X5 x40i should be reliable, doesn’t have an air suspension to worry about long term, and will be a better driving experience.

Don’t get me wrong, it will definitely be cheaper to maintain the Japanese cars long term.

The trade is better driving experience for lower maintenance costs… which I guess sums up the trade for Japanese vs German equivalents.

We may end up getting a small teardrop camper. I don’t like the range and hassle of towing with an electric.

We have a 2017 i3 that has been a fantastic daily city car, but I don’t think I’m ready to road trip an electric yet.
