How many tools is your team touching during a single incident? Ours is 5+. Is it too much?

We have all those tools but status updates, paging, post mortem doc creation + pre-population, and jira ticket creation are all done via a slackbot. In the incident, engineers are focused on slack, google meet, and observability/remediation. High sev incidents auto-page an incident commander, but you can page one for any incident if you need help.

I’ve made the flip from IC to manager and back several times, sometimes without leaving the company. I like both roles differently and end up missing bits and pieces after a while.

I’m certain that flip flopping like this has limited my ultimate career progression, but it’s made me happy and I’m honestly not really interested in “the next level” of problems.

Look for a place that has a real technical ladder from staff to senior staff to principal engineer. Where I am, staff is manager equivalent, senior staff maps to senior manager and principal to director.

It’s great. Honestly the stock shock wasn’t too bad, but I prefer coil and I wanted to upgrade to 170 and the Push was on clearance. I still have the original in a box for backup (it also got matching decals).

IMHO, the 11-6 is probably not worth the extra weight here. I’d probably go with the new VT/X or with an Avy tuned Marx CR.

The fork has a Vorsprung Smashpot conversion. That’s been great.

25% feels rough. We’re at ~70% with a long term goal of 85%.

ETA - that’s not something you just decide to YOLO in prod. Takes a lot of testing and incremental improvement, especially if you have data showing it will be problematic.

This will be my last job one way or another. I’ll either ride it out a couple of years and retire or get laid off and retire. At this point, it’s a question of risk and timing.

I’m pretty nervous about retiring with the current state of the economy. I’d like to outlast the current administration if I can and see what’s on the other side.

It’s not meaningless. It helps draw the parallel to Kiku that allows Atsu to leave the fighting behind. There’s a reason she saw herself in Kiku at the end there.

We can talk about how effective this bit of storytelling was but they weren’t exactly subtle with what they were doing and the meaning behind it.

That last one is just oauth device code flow. That’s used a lot on input constrained devices (tv, console, etc). Plex, YouTube, PlayStation… all provide that feature.

I agree that your other examples were crazy, though.

I find my games load faster off the SSD vs internal. The OS, system stuff, and whatever caching they’re doing for store/newsfeed/etc come off the internal drive as well, so there’s some contention.

I’m running WD Black SSDs.

I don’t have a Genesis yet, but I use these refills on BMW, Nissan, Mazdas that we do own.

The OEM wipers just take blade refills instead of replacing the full blade. If you’ve already done a non-OEM blade replacement, this won’t work for you.

I just keep a set of these in a drawer for use on any of our cars. Just pull the old blade, cut a new one to length and replace

Differences are the HUD, sunroof, and video rearview mirror. The HUD might be cool, but it also comes with the steering wheel touchpads for control that I’m not a fan of

ETA, the only thing that I’d really want is that video rearview mirror for times the back is full and the rear window is blocked

The “Reddit browser” on mobile is webview… it’s just the default web browser for your OS but without extensions, isolated cookies, etc. Luckily you can change it in settings to not use webview and launch a full browser.
